Wristbands resale

Yea, I'm not exactly cool with the resale thing either. I'm basically shipping these things out at cost and using long-established relationships with all of the venues so that everyone can enjoy themselves. Not stoked on the idea that people are reselling them.

I guess they base their "business" on demand and supply but thing is, they do the same as scalpers do for show tickets and I really don't encourage this. And it really sucks for you as you try to please everyone and others are taking advantage of the situation.

That being said I still have my wristband on eBay for $50k.... lol

I dunno about a thread for this...coulda just pm'd Jack or a MOD so we could talk to the people involved. As Jack stated above, he doesn't agree with this.

The extra wristbands that I have will be sold at cost OR given away, but I think the real issue here is patience.

Plenty of people have extras but just don't want to give them up until it's closer to May and they know for sure they won't need them.

If I started a thread (and notice that I didn't say any names and nor will I - But Jack can access my PM box and see by himself) it's just because I want everyone to be aware and NOT supporting this kind of action. If nobody buys resales, then people with extra wristbands will MAYBE start being honest. Utopia, you say? Maybe... But yeah, I'm optimistic.

Who's been selling them? Seems like a bit of dick move, especially to Jack who has chosen to do this so that we can have a great time, and not make a profit on it himself.

Like I said in the other thread on this...if anyone has extra ones, just use it as free drink currency or something to the person getting the band. That's still a good return on the $4.

That's a fair trade! But what about those who sell their wristbands because they aren't coming? I think it's more those people who are trying to make money out of the others.

I feel the same way you do. I haven't booked yet as I'm hinging on getting at least a pass for myself (though I'm looking to take a friend along).

Well, it was the first time I received a "real offer". I received lots of nice messages from people here telling me to stop worrying, that eveything will be fine... But I'm insecure ( :P ) so I kept on messaging those who were saying they had extras. And although I really want to be part of MayOD and that I WILL BE IN VEGAS ANYWAY at the same time, there's no way I'm gonna pay more for the wristbands even if that means I will have to pay full price to enter a nightclub.

Now I'm being more assured that everything will be indeed fine as I'm not just coming here asking for wristbands without participating in the forum. I get to know people, I visit the chatroom, I am now friends on Facebook and Twitter with some of the people here, so I guess that helps (and it's even more pleasurable as I prefer to party with people I know that 100% strangers). But still, the wristbands give some "security" so to speak :P

Time is running out for them considering a flight from Ireland isn't really a last minute thing so you're more then welcome to have first refusal on my two if you dont get something before then... I'll be the baller and cover the 10 dollars they cost don't worry

Thanks for bringing this up! I was getting concerned about the same issue cuz folks were starting to play the bid game to make some extra cash. I would rather buy the person shots every time we are all out in appreciation for helping me out with the extra bands they had. Bad form definitely to folks who are really using this forum a sad and pathetic way to make chump change. With that being said, thanks to Jack, Warren and Royale for clearing this up and expressing their thoughts.

I got 2 wristbands due to i am expecting +1 to roll with me but there is good chance i will be rolling myself so i will have extra wristband in that case. And i will just give away my wristband or just for a beer/shot or something.

I am pretty sure some people got extra wristbands just in case to if anyone else rolls with them. So i am pretty sure close to the date or when everyone is in town there will be more wristbands.

+1! I have an extra wristband at the moment but I have a couple friends who are still thinking about going... PLUS - 7 of us are leaving Saturday morning so on Friday night I'm pretty sure we could just hand those out, if that helps anyone out!

For people that are willing to pay 4-5 times the original price, that reminds me of the people that will buy bottles even though they have 2 untouched open bottles at their table and 10 Fiji/Voss/what-have-you.

It doesn't make sense, but hey, to each their own.

From what I gather, the point of this is not to flip/scalp tickets, but to keep this event organized and meet new people.
