Tipping a host?

Great so I am in the ball park when it comes to cost.....apart from security.

Mikey, as the oracle, what 'incentive' does a host require for a decent table. Is my $200 plan fine?

Im not Mikey, but you may want to increase it. The standard is $75-$100 per bottle.

But then what happens if someone such Mikey does all the work to get us a organised, but he is based somewhere else?

So if Mikey sorts us out with a great table at XS, but he is working Surrender that night, what do we do? It seems a bit harsh to give all the tip to whoever takes us to the table in XS when a lot of the work is down to someone else.

Or will Mikey be 'forced' to come down and join us for some shots and party with us for a bit so we can give him his tip

nah.. good hosts come to check on their peeps if needed... I check on my guys at surrender.. if they go big elsewhere and hit me up a ton.. I get curious and wanna see how they did at the other clubs.. sometime I dont get off in time tho..

Donnie set me up at Marquee so I tipped the host that walked us to the table and took care of Donnie later on with paypal. Doesn't seem too realistic or fair to expect someone working on the other side of the strip to make it over all the time.

I don't have the slightest idea what the proper etiquette is on this either though and would like to know too!

So do some hosts think "If these guys tip me more than X amount I'll give them table A, but if they don't give me that much I'll give them table B" and make up their mind once they see the colour of our money?

uhm.. pretty much... and its not us.. say table 22 is usually a 3.5k min... and 31 is a 2k min.. you wanna do a 1500 min.. and tip 200.. you get 21.. tip 400 or 500.. and table 22 is yours..
