  • So, what is Tabu & The Cathouse like?

I've never been to one these type ultra lounge clubs. Do you get a table to sit at or do you have to chill by the bar? There's no dance floor right? Are these places good for meeting women?

I've been to VooDoo Lounge, and it felt like a combination of a lounge and a dance club put together. It was roomy, you could have conversations, dance, chill, etc. Much much better than Pure where you couldn't move or hear yourself talk.

I've been to cathouse and we stayed for no more than 10-15 minutes. It did have a dancefloor, but the vibe was very lounge like and we werent feeling it.

From what I bolded in your post it seems like what you're looking for.

I want to check it out, but its gambling a little with a $30 cover. Maybe midweek is a lower cover

I was curious about Tabu as well. I am staying the MGM Grand so it would be easy to go to but I don't know if it would be worth it or if I should try somewhere else. I was thinking about the Wednesday or Thursday before MDW. Any thoughts?

Yea there's a dance floor. I'd definitely go there again, pretty good atmosphere.

I was at the Cathouse a few weeks ago.... They have some kind of Habenero pepper base mixed drink we went there to have.... I think it was pretty much a one drink trip for us, we were in walking distance because we were staying at THE Hotel.... Its an OK place to stop in for a drink or 2 but I don't think I would spend much more time than that there.

I think I read on yelp that if you don't get bottle service there, you have to stand by the bar. I wouldn't mind it if i got a table, and just ordered 4 drinks for a couple hours to check it out. But I rather get bottle service at a dance club.

Tabu is cool. It's a little on the smaller side compared to Cathouse.

You can get bottle service or cocktail minimums in the lounge (blue room), the nightclub (red room) is for bottle service only.

Tabu is legit. I stay at MGM a lot in the summer (because of wet republic) and we do tabu to start the night off before the clubs. During the day there's a guy at the podium doing guestlist. It's a fun vibe inside...

I had a blast at Cathouse on a Friday, from what I remember last year. It was a blur to say the least! All I can recall is people were dancing on tables and banquettes, the music was good (obviously people were partying), and there was free champagne for ladies. Luckily the male bar(tender? possibly a bar back?) made us mimosa's. But my word is a little iffy because we were chocolate wasted, but we had a good time.
