  • Don't Waste Your Time contacting VIP Hosts mentioned on this site

    All,

Dont waste your time contacting vip hosts mentioned on this site, we were in vegas over the NYE period and thought we would try pre-organise our tables through the contacts on this site.

They see ur a tourist and just try to rip you off, places like XS, Tryst, Surrender, Lavo were quoting $3K for tables in a good location in the clubs. The funniest one we got quoted was $10K to get a good table at Marquee on 01/01!!!

If you really want to get it organised, properly by a local who has the right contacts, do it through the concierge at your hotel, we stayed in the Palms and gave the concierge a couple of hundred up front, not only did they get us great deals, great locations with their own contacts in the clubs, but places that were quoting us $2-$3K for the table we were looking for we ended up getting for 2-3 bottle minimums.

Once again, don't waste your time pre-organising, give your hotel concierge a good tip and let them organise it for you!!

Vegas rocks, we have been there for the past 3 years straight for Xmas/NYE period, each time a 10 night straight clubbing holiday, can't recommend the place enough!!

    Regards

Glad you were able to get the experience you wanted.

I however respectfully disagree based on my own experiences with the hosts here and concierges in the past.

The prices that you were quoted sound about right, as you were trying to get a table at the most popular clubs in Vegas on one of the busiest, if not the busiest weekend of the year. Places like XS, Tryst, etc usually put $5k-$10k minimums on the best tables on these nights, because they are usually reserved by extremely high rollers, such as the guy that bought a $100k bottle of champaign at XS on NYE.

You claim that your concierge got you in those same clubs for 2-3 bottle minimums. What clubs and what nights was this? Because I highly doubt that you were able to get a good table, if a table at all, at a Tier 1 club on Friday or Saturday night.

Also, I don't doubt there are many ways to go about tables/hookups etc and that different locals have varying degrees of contacts. You're concierge may have been someone like our guy Darryll here.

Darryll's a former host that knows a lot of people. Sometimes he can get better deals/options/comped bottles/etc that the listed hosts can't, but sometimes the best option/deal is through the hosts here. It varies and we recommend shopping around for the best you can get.

You are entitled to your opinion though I COMPLETELY disagree with it.

First of all, 3 bottles WILL RUN YOU over 2k at most TIER 1 clubs.

They were not BSing. The bottle minimums at these clubs do not change magically.

Second, what host did you use?

                Why was he so bad?

Is there a particular place or club at the Wynn where this bad experience took place?

The majority of hosts on this site have gone above and beyond the service I experienced booking through a third party VIP service or the hotel.

I know if I am getting the shaft because I have this great resource to gauge prices.

Plus, as far as the Marquee goes, 10 K. It was New Years, it was the clubs OPENING NIGHT. There were celebrities and famous DJ's in attendance.

People are willing to pay a premium for that.

I would be curious to know what the "hotel" quoted you for the Marquee that night.

It is true that I tip the host extra but that is always because of the following:

A.) They comp me cover (even without a good M:F ratio)

B.) I don't wait in line for more than 10 min (and at a Tier 1 club, those lines can be freaking long)

C.) Any ladies I want to bring in the club are given free admission

D.) They usually give me a deal on bottle service, which means a better table for less money

E.) They usually buy me free shots or give me 50% off on Fiji water for my table (which adds up)

F.) They give me the BEST hostess in the house

G.) Most importantly. they don't vanish after I tip them. They keep coming back over the course of the night to check up on how our group is doing.

This kind of service warrants tipping. Nothing is free in Vegas.

As you said, you had to tip the hotel "Concierge" (who should help you out anyway) a "couple hundred UP FRONT" to get into your desired nightclub.

We simply choose to skip the middleman.

I suggest you detail who and where this bad experience came from so the board can be aware of said host in the future.

How many people were in your group? And how much did you end up spending NYE and at which club?

NYE is a hugely expensive night, far more so than any other night of the year. And opening night for Marquee would be really expensive, wasn't Jay Z performing?

Whoa....what blasphemy! I don't know what happened to the op but I can vouch for all of the JC hosts that I've used from Marklen all the way to Phil the Greek. These are stand up dudes. I am the first one to say if you're running a whack operation but I got nothing but love on my last Vegas excursion. Even in the instances when I didn't get a table, (in this case Marklen) the host was very responsive by text and we got in quickly even with a bad ratio. I can't speak to what another man may have experienced but be careful of slandering the guys who've done good work on here. I'll be back in Vegas on May 26th and I definitely will be using the JC recommended hosts.
                      CAN'T WAIT!

Palms clubs vs XS/Marquee? The hosts on this site gave you the right price, and so did the concierge. One is just not worth as much as the other.

Actually come to think of it, you probably wasted those hundos to the concierge. You probably could've gotten a better deal with a direct Palms host.

As a new guy around here I would love to hear more details about this. It seems to me when 99% of a forum has nothing but good things to say about the hosts and then 1% has something bad to say, chances are you screwed up somewhere along the lines. Maybe you were a pain in the ass and they didnt want to be bothered so they told you 10k knowing you wouldnt call back or maybe 10k was on the money, again just guessing here kinda like everyone is guessing at why your experiance was so bad.

With statements like yours we need some details to back it up.

10k is because it's NYE and it was Marquee's opening night. Higher demand = higher prices. And didn't Jay Z get paid $1 million to perform that night?

The 10k quote was accurate on NYE and very likely wasn't the most expensive table package you could get. Jay Z and Coldplay were performing and they had so many celebrities in there it would take me 3 more minutes to type all the names. You can't complain about expensive prices on New Years it's how the clubs make money shit the clubs here in Dallas were charging 4k for tables.
