Questions about transportation

Hey everyone. I'm wanting to set up a limo transport to and from the airport and am wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference in having your concierge book it vs going to the company's website. I will be staying at Encore if it makes a difference. Also, does anyone know about the Wynn/Encore Phantom? I would (obviously) be interested in that if available.

There are usually limos at the airport. Just offer them30% less than they ask for.

I don't know if I've seen too many movies where people get kidnapped and have their organs harvested, but I'd rather go with a company/hotel that I know about in advance and can tell others who they are. Haha

I'm also curios about the difference (price, limo quality, service) between booking a limo through a limo company or simply having the hotel get you one. I'll have a group of about 9 people staying at The Palazzo weekend after next, and I want to use limos, but I don't want to be having to schedule all of our limo rides days ahead of time. Seems like it would be easier to run by/call the concierge desk 10-15 minutes before we're ready to leave, and have them get us a limo.

Last march rented a Rock Star bus from 24-7 Ent Limos to pick up a big group from the airport. Company was on time and the driver was cool. Always something about coming down that escalator and seeing your name on one of those signs the drivers are holding.

Anyone have prices on normal car service through Wynn?
I always feel if I call them with tons questions, I'll get different treatment when checking in.

I recieved several recommendations for Presidential however they were booked for our arrival. They referred me to their "sister" company and had no trouble at all with them, Bell transport. We stayed at Planet Hollywood and their private limos would only hold 6 comfortably (we got 7 in there). Some of the members also PM'd me some #'s of drivers to use but we never had to call them.....

The funny thing is, unless its something like Wynn / Encore, Mandarin, The Mansion @ MGM Grand, Aria SkySuites or MGM SkySuites (where each entity has their own earmarked fleet), all of the other resorts generally go through the same top limo firms in Vegas - - CLS, Bell-Trans, Presidential

I've always found CLS to be very expensive. Case in point, last trip to vegas, airport to PH Westgate was $69....Plus tip....He got a small tip though, guy was being a douche. We asked if (for a tip of course) we could stop at the welcome to las vegas sign for a few pix, he says sure, but as soon as we were done taking pix he says now it's a one hour minimum at $75 or $80 an hour. I said what happened to $69, he said oh yea, well just for you we will honor that.....I was less than impressed. About my ONLY negative limo experience in Vegas however...

I'd also like to know...If I could rent the Wynn Phantom I'd do it, I just got back from a weekend down there and rented the CLS Phantom for almost $800 for three hours, with tip. Rather have the Wynn/Encore RR Phantom for one hour, and do it that way....

From what I was reading on the Presidential site, they start charging you from the moment your plane lands. So it'll cost you an hour just to get to the hotel, possibly more if you're slow getting through. I assume the Wynn will have similar rules.

Our plane was an hour late and they didn't charge us any more-I did tip the guy extra though because he was right there when we arrived and ran us by a liquor store on the way.

So to answer my question, should I book a limo with the hotel concierge, or through a limo company on my own?
