Whats the verdict on Marquee?

Planning on going Jan 29th (Sat) and buying tix in advance online ($40). Steve Angello will be there that night. So it sounds like it's super busy and some reviewers said that even at 9:00, the line up was still ~2h.

Will buying tix in advance save us any lineup time? What time you figure we should show?

P.S. Can you drink while waiting in line??

I went this past Saturday night for Dirty South and bought tickets through Marquee's website (no service fees through here). Me and two other guys picked up our tickets at 9:15, made our way up the escalator, and it was an absolute madhouse - people everywhere, signs pointing in every which direction, huge lines, and bouncers trying to point everyone to the right area. The good thing was at least on this night, pre-sale tickets had their own separate line on the right side of the entrance next to the ridiculously long guest list line. There was a group of 4 or 5 guys ahead of us and we were literally in line less than a minute. After ID and stamp, we went up an elevator to the Boom Box room. According to the bouncer there, we weren't allowed anywhere else until the "private party" above us finished since we didn't have wristbands. We thought we had gotten screwed and would be stuck there all night, but we got access a little after 10.

Donnie is right, the club itself is amazing and combines a lot of the best elements of other clubs. Definitely take a moment to explore all the rooms, although be prepared for the two sets of stairs to get up/down to the next floor. There were apparently 6,000 people there and while both the dance floors in the main room and Boom Box were packed, there was room to breathe and sit out on the patio by the Dayclub pool (along with a small outdoor area and bathrooms outside Boombox). There also was room to dance in the bar area between the patio and main dance floor if you prefer some space.

Didn't try re-entry, but hands were stamped upon entering.

A couple other things, before this gets even lengthier. Grey Goose cocktails were $14. Service at the Boom Box bar was very fast (2 minute wait max) so we kept ordering there. The fact that the bartenders were gorgeous didn't hurt. Most of the girls in general at the club were gorgeous and there were many of different types. We exited through the Boulevard Pool which looks fantastic itself. Pizza on the third floor and kicking back on some nice chairs and ottomans after you leave is highly recommended.

That was my experience, so hopefully the pre-sale tickets getting their own dedicated line will continue, since that seemed like the way to go. Good luck and have a great time!

How good is the patio or pool deck? Would it be too cold to get a table in that area? Would anyone who has been recommend it?

The Library was just pretty much a place to go just to hang for a while if you didn't want to dance. Not too much going on up there.

My friend who lives out there says Marquee is his fav place. We did XS Saturday and had a really good time... but he still said Marquee hands down. He said the place is full of 10's.

seein a ton of mixed reviews.. like i said.. give it 6 months and then go.. u are less likely to run into a bad situation.. (lines.. waiting.. @$$hole staff...) and it will be more enjoyable... see too many locals already ban it from their places to go..

When it comes to Vegas nightclubs, my source of choice is Yelp reviewers. And according to them, Marquee is the third best dance club in Vegas, just behind XS.

I think Yelp is good for restaurants and such, but it's been brought up before on this site that Yelp is off the mark sometimes when it comes to clubs (at least as far as Vegas in concerned). I'm sure there are good and honest reviews there, but the majority has been shown to be people complaining about things that is not necessarily a common occurrence.

+1, i don't think yelp necessarily fits the needs of what a lot of people here on this site are looking for...

At least half the time Yelp reviews are negative for something stupid like they thought $30 cover was too much, or the doorman didn't immediately let them into the club.
