Forum Question: Would you be interested in video chat?

So a company, www.paltalk.com, has reached out to the JC Forum and wanted to know if we wanted video chat on here.

I said I would leave it up to you guys...

Here is how they describe the service:

"Your site visitors will be able to voice, video and text chat with one another or with you, if you choose. You can use the room to cultivate a strong community or host special events or q&a sessions."

Thoughts? Would it be used?

I think that would have to be tested to see how it will turn out. I think it sounds like a pretty good idea overall.

I don't know if we need video capabilities other than the occasional webcast from you. Chat+IM in general would be cool BUT I would want it to be seamless/integrated with vbulletin. (prominent link and uses the forum membership login so that if I'm Drew on the forum, I'm Drew on the chat without needing to enter the name/register it separately.

An integrated Chat would be nice, we currently use Chatzy and its been a great success. More users knowing about it could only make it better. Voice/Video options would be nice...as options of course.

THAT sounds legit. Maybe you could also have something like an "Ask Jack Colton" segment. Users submit questions and there's possibly a vote on the question of the week/month/whatever and then you answer the question on video somehow.

this is a cool idea. I dont see it being used on a regular basis except for a select few.
