Looking for the best "hip hop free" club

My bad. Typin like I talk again. But, I mean; I'm just looking for a different than what I can usually get type chick. Blondes, foreigners and Asians primarily. But, the majority of these types don't flock to the hip-hop in the numbers that I like to see. So, if you can't lure em, join em. I never like to limit the game.

Well if that's your objective then I recommend you pm forum members aria, sydneygirl, and kori. Inquire as to what type of clubs they like and the music that you should be listening/partying to if you wish to maximize your chances of having sexual relations with them.

it's 2010. house has been gaining momentum for at least 3-4 years in vegas. i mean, when rabbit in the moon and mstrkrft played out for halloween on the strip in 2007 i can see how people might have been surprised, but it's been building AT LEAST a few years now.

hip hop in the car or with the fellas, house/pop in the clubs.

Also, I'm certainly no house expert, but isn't a lot of the house music played at clubs and parties just hip hop songs that have been "house" remixed? So how would they not know the songs beforehand?

Guess I gotta learn more house then... If that's what the ladies like.

Unless you're looking at a very specific demographic (guidettes, older women, girls who can't dance), I'd wager that hip hop is well ahead of house in terms of what "the ladies" like to dance/club to.

I live in Socal out of all places and we don't even have a station dedicated to house..

+1!! What most people think "house" is, is really just remixed songs!! Our group of 8 girls would easily choose hip hop over house. It's much funner dancing to hip hop/r&b than house. When they play house everyone turns into a guido and starts to fist pump - not attractive...

You guys are mixing a couple different styles into 2 very definitive categories.

First off, if a club only played hip hop, it wouldnt last to long, because you need a top forty or house beat to make it relatable to masses. Most true hip hop isnt played on the pop stations.

So most of the clubs in vegas that we think play hip hop, really play hip hop/ top 40. Most of the hip hop they play is commercial.

Then you have clubs like XS, Tryst and Surrender, whose format is completely different than the Hip hop/ Top 40, they remove the hip hop (except for extremely commercial tracks) and mix a blend of top 40 and electro house.

Then you have straight up house music, which is heard at parties like godskitchen, perfecto and at the afterhours club, Drias.

You must also remember that due to the influx of house music into top 40 these days, you are bound to heard everything everywhere.

Thats what I prefer! On the pool party side, EBC is closer to what XS/Tryst would play. Also another reason why Wet has the best music is that its based on mood. They start off with electro top 40 from 11am-1pm, then they work in the commercial house at 1-4pm. 4pm at their prime, they push some of that hard electro house you would hear at Vanity/Perfecto. You get the complete package at Wet and thats probably why everyone likes it.

But, a lot of hip-hop DJs don't really know how to play hip hop anyways. I mean, just because its hip-hop or even the top charting song, doesn't mean we're gonna like it. Cuz, I've stopped mid dance cuz the DJ didn't mix right. That why they don't have glass bottles anymore, lol.

i might be wrong about this because i don't pay a great deal of attention to the actual people posting, but it seems to me the scope of this forum is slowly changing.

during most of the 10 years i've been enjoying vegas' nightlife, there has never been a go-to forum; a place where one would be foolish NOT to check before heading out into the night. there are great forums dealing with vegas in general, but getting decent nightlife conversation and tips has been much, much, more difficult compared to gambling/food/lodging.

the forums here have finally filled that void, and seem to be gaining momentum all the time. so while some of us might be happy to break down our like of dubstep vs our relative impatience with electro, a high percentage of this site's users (both lurkers AND posters), certainly moving forward, will simply want to know where to avoid or find hip hop, or where to get some crunchy techno mixed with their, uh, key$ha.

I grew up with mostly hip hop, and wasn't that much into house up until recently. But from my experience, the DJ's in Vegas know how to move a party and make it feel like its jumping. Perfect example is The Bank during the invasion. The DJ played Old hip hop, house, new rap, top 40. Everything to make the party feel and sound right. Everyone from the group (all had different tastes in music) left that night complimenting how good the DJ was.
