8 of us total (all males) are coming to Vegas for Memorial Day weekend and we hear that it will be absolutely ridiculous in terms of getting into the best nightclubs/pool parties. We want to get the honest scoop on how to best beat the odds.
We used a contact off of this website in order to try to book a table at a popular club, figuring that it would be our only chance of getting in. The guy we talked to stated that he had us set for our table that weekend. However, he wouldn't give us any prices save for the starting price of bottles. We don't even know how many bottles our party would have to purchase. He just told us to get in contact with him later on. So, basically, we have no idea how much we will have to pay.
Now, after talking with various other individuals, most stated that the reason that he was doing this was because the club was purposely overbooking the tables, and was going to determine the prices later based on demand. This seems like it would start a bidding war that would jack up the prices to an exorbitant level. I was told that my group would have trouble even getting to the front of the VIP Table Line to talk to a host, much less getting the actual table. So, essentially, it seems like even though my group has a "reservation," the table is anything but guaranteed.
In fact, I was told that there would most likely be 100s of groups outside bidding for dozens of tables (come on...really?). Now, this wouldn't be actual bidding per se - I was told it would be more like struggling to get the host's attention for like 30 minutes, and then having them say they'll get back to you, creating a ridiculous amount of confusion amongst a bunched of people eager to get in the club who thought they had tables. Essentially, the tables would go out to the people willing to pay the most, and not the people who had "reservations." In addition, I was told that if the bouncers didn't like the way you looked, it would be a wrap. So, basically, you could be outside for hours trying to get a table that you thought was reserved. Will it really be that bad? I'm wondering what to do, because this very site says that you have a chance to book a table on a Holiday Weekend if you call 3 weeks in advance. I initiated contact well over 3 weeks in advance. However, it seems as if our table is anything but booked.
All of this seems ridiculous, but I hear that it's accurate because it will be Memorial Day Weekend, and things will be crazy.
What are our (8 guys) chances of actually getting this "reserved" table at this top club on memorial day weekend? And if we do somehow manage to get it, how much should we expect to pay? Would going with a 3rd party VIP hosting company be our best bet? In addition, is getting a table even necessary? What are our chances of getting in via general admission? After spending so much time anticipating this trip, we do not want to end up outside wandering around. Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
