I played Casino Royale a month ago. It was a slow weekend, but they had $2 mins & 100X odds. Got lucky with some kid from Alabama who made 8 or so points giving all new meaning to "Roll Tide"! The place itself is a hole but OMG is it fun!!!

So for the places to go to play craps (best bang for your buck):

Strip: I really don't think there is anywhere better to play than Casino Royale. These prices apply to all times (I have been there on a Saturday day/night and never seen them raise the prices).

You can play $5 minimum with 100x odds and I can't remember if it's $2 or $3 minimum with less odds, again can't remember the exact amount, but I think it's 50x odds.

Why is this so great? Because it means if you play full odds, the house edge ends up being somewhere around 0.02% aka practically zero. Now, I don't play max odds, but even playing 5x odds or 10x odds gives an approximately .3% and .2% house edge respectively. This is much better than most of the strip where minimums are typically $10-$15 and have 2x odds or the popular 3x-4x-5x. This means that you lose less money and it takes longer to lose it.

I also think the wait staff is very attentive. Plus, the tables here are always crowded and very fun! The last time I was there our table and many onlookers in the casino had a big chant and the wave going every time someone rolled (the table was hot)! Its not anything snazzy to look at, but any place that I can get a Cinnabon and play craps and blackjack is heaven to me!

          Downtown:

          Main Street, period.

Although I have a friend who obtained golden arm status at Cali and is quite partial to that table, you can't beat Main Street. $5 minimum and 20x odds. In addition, you can qualify for the golden arm award if you roll for over an hour. Cali also does this, but they only give 2x odds.

If anyone knows of any better places or better odds, please let me know. I love craps and it has always been my favorite game since my dad taught me at age 12.

Also, I noticed a lot of people asking to learn how to play. I'd be happy to explain to anyone who wants to know. Just hit me up or find me at the Casino Royale tables this weekend!

What's everyone's startegy? I have heard so many. Some people only play the pass line and odd. Some only do 6 and 8. I, randomly, love 9's. They do so well for me.

Most times I never seem to win much at craps. I either lose or break even. Do I just need to grow a set and make more bets? Wait for the table to heat up?
Am I the only one that walks into a Subway and says, "It smells like O'Shea's in here."

                    Yes and yes
I personally like to play the point +2 (established w/come bets). This is standard for me, so I'm always playing 3 numbers. It may sound like a sucker bet, but put a damn $1 on the Fire Bet if they have it! I even put $5 when I'm the shooter. And in 2 years, I've already hit the 5-in-a-row twice ($1250 each). Last but not least, learn to be patient w/a cooler table. Play w/people who look like they know what they're doing, and copy their bets if you feel the need. The game is just so streaky but play smart, consistent, and up your bets on a hot table and you should do fine. Besides, it's always the funnest table on the floor
                    Nothing interesting to add here...

I almost always play the same way and in 20+ casino trips I have never left with less money that I started - although I wouldn't expect that sort of luck.

Its pretty simple (lets say the table min is $5):
                      1. Place $5 on the Pass Line and $5 on the Don't Pass Line - with this bet the only way I can lose is with a 12 on the come out roll (1 in 36 chance).... anything else, worst case scenario, I break even if I do nothing.
                      2. If the point is set at 4,5,9,10 I will place odds on the DONT PASS LINE - it works opposite of the passline
                      3. If the point is set at 6/8 - lets says 6, I will place $6/$12/etc on the 8 to come and collect my money on the 1st/3rd/5th/etc hits and press on the 2nd/4th/6th/etc.

You'll never win a ton at once, you'll never lose a ton at once and you'll be able to sit and play for hours on $100.... I've seriously never left a craps table with less money that I've started with doing just this - including tips

Call me crazy, but i have always enjoyed playing at El Cortez. And to the above poster, I am sure you aren't making many friends at the table placing odds on the don't pass....

I'm never an asshole about winning while everyone else loses. I've gotten a dirty look or two but just keep things light hearted and people don't mind too much... I'm like the Lebron James of craps, makes it more fun.

One night though I was playing my usual dark-side method and a guy came up and watched me for a minute, then bought in for like$2000 .... he played for like 2/3 mins before saying something along the lines of, "Are you retarded? You can't win like that... might as well just throw away your money.... That is the stupidest bet I've ever seen (I know he said this last part).... well no more than 20 mins later he was cleaned out. 2k gone in minutes, and I was up 250/300... just sort of look at him and said, "Wow, your last bet was the stupidest bet I've ever seen..." he gave me a nod of 'okay, you win...' and walked away.

There has been other nights where I've showed up, played like this and before you know it half or more of the table is playing like me.

Craps is certainly a game of discipline...when playing the darkside I tend to post-up and not say a whole lot....smiling on the inside as I watch people come and go from the table.

Just got back and played about 30 hours of craps total, which is quite a bit and did fairly well. I would basically play the pass line minimum and then full odds (best bet on the casino floor) Then I would place a come bet and once that point was established I would place full odds there. At a $10 tables this would be about $120 on the table at a time and I would randomly pick numbers and the occasional hard way and always a dealer bet on my odds. Can't say enough how fun this game is especially if you are winning, but you can also go down in a hurry.

You could not be more wrong on this. 100X odds on a don't pass line bet would be the best odds you can get on any game of chance.....anywhere.
