    - Dnix, not all my points were referring to the original email. Your ongoing contributions on this forum enhance the Vegas experience for many, and when Mayor Goodman offers his good citizen awards, i fully expect to see your name on there, as both an advocate of the city, and as a sentinel to misinformation.

T-dog, have a great trip, enjoy your weekend, and I am sure it will be a special one, but don't discount my advice- it was offered with the best intentions.

I'm just wondering, how come it's hard to organize a trip from the UK as opposed to chicago or philly?
I think the great thing about the internet is that it essentially makes distance and time zones meaningless. (wow, i'm so deep, someone should quote that in their sig?)

I understand the need for a third party if it's to a remote road-less travelled area, where special visas are required. but Vegas is a very popular destination, the last few trips i've organized to Vegas, I didn't even pick up the phone once.. just did it through online sites.

I guess a third party can make things run smoother, but my concern is that the third party may take you to clubs that are sub-par cause that's where they get the most bounty for bringing you in.

My friend hired a wedding planner for her destination wedding in Hawaii, and they did an excellent job, but she had to use the planner's 'recommended' florist, photographer, suit rentals, photo sites, caterer, everything. When she saw a sample of the photographs, and asked for a specific photographer who's website she saw and the planner pretty much refused..
If she did some more research on her own, she would have saved money and gotten better vendors. so i guess the planner saved the headache, but it came with a premium.

If I dealt with a third party, i'd want someone that is completely independent that didnt' have affilliations with certain venues.. I'd hate to end up at studio 54 or rockhouse or something like that.

I can think of a few people on this forum that can organize an unforgettable weekend in vegas, and will only recommend THE places to go, not somewhere they have a vested interest in.

T-Dog, good luck organizing this party!! can't wait to hear the trip report. keep us posted on the progress.

could not agree more on your comments, thanks kori.

the reason i use this site is because it gives me info from people and not companies. i hope everyone that posts here are doing so only for the purpose to share info and experiences. if more and more posts come from companies or individuals with a vested interest in something, then the credibility and purpose (or at least my purpose) of this site will be lost.

Couldn't have said it better myself Kori.

I'm organizing a few trips this summer for a few friends that are going. It's really not as hard as you would expect it to be. Sure, it can def be intimidating but it can be done and you'll be surprised how simple it can actually be.

My table was small... there was only four of us. It was next to stairs heading down to the dance floor. It work fine for us. You would have to have a much bigger area. If you had the whole section where my small table was... you would be happy. You could see everyone walk down a few steps to the dance floor... and people with out tables were behind us.

I would not want an upstairs table... you want to be on the main floor.

Thanks for your questions- i too would not use a third party service in organising my trip, and in the past have relied on hotel concierges of the power of the dollar!

I will try and keep my story brief. I wanted to organise a trip for my family last year. I wanted to stay at Caesars (having never stayed there) my dad wanted to stay at the Wynn, where he has a host, who organises and books everything for him.

I asked CP for a host, and they would not oblige as I had no spending record there, but they told be that the Hotel offers an IN-HOUSE CONCIERGE SERVICE FOR GROUPS which plans group trips. You tell them what you want and they arrange it...free! it is called total experiences.

So if you are 22 guys and want to go to Pure, they arrange it. If you are 30 guys and you want to go to XS, they arrange it. If you are 40 guys and you want to go to LAX, by limo- they arrange it. If you want dancing girls in the room- they arrange it (probably!!). If you want to play golf on good courses and cars to get there- they arrange it! if you want to enjoy other recreational pursuits- that's up to you!

As I mentioned to OP- if you plan on staying in a Harrah's Property, this service exists and is free. If you are in , for example, the Wynn, you can't use the service as it only is on offer on harrah's properties. It is NOT a third party service booking agent, it is a group concierge service for HArrahs properties.

I used the service, it was good for me. Do you need it to have a great time in Vegas- absolutely not, can money buy you anything in Vegas...well most things! Use hosts where you can, rather than not IMO, as it makes the experience happier and easier.

For me, in London, I could sit down with the UK coordinator for Harrahs and say (for example)... monday-Jet, Tuesday-Pure, Wednesday-Table for 5 at Joel Robuchen and bette midler, Thursday- Golf and Love, Friday-XS, Saturday- Pure, Sunday- Hard Rock- and have it all on an itinerary before I leave, with people waiting for us at the door of clubs (and limo at airport) when I arrive, Is what I want, and all part of my experience staying at Caesars.

Like I have said.. it is not for everyone- if you have your hearts set on MGM, MAndalay Bay or Wynn, this is not for you. If you Plan to stay at Caesars, PH or another Harrah's hotel, i would certainly use this service- that is what it is there for and costs nothing!

                Back to work...

If the person your dealing with does not work DIRECTLY for the club, they ARE a third party. Spin it however you want. Doesnt change the facts. Just because most disagree with you, doesnt mean they dont understand what your saying. It means they think its not the BEST advice. Notice I didnt say it was bad advise. Just not the best. Sorry you cant except it, but the majority of these peeps are true Vegas Vets, and when they all say the same thing....................

You say the service cost nothing. Does that mean you didnt tip anyone????

Hey, i am not criticising using hosts- you guys have a job to do and do it well. The clubs and visitors need hosts, otherwise the arrangements break down- when i come over next (probably later in the year) dnix, you can take me out and talk to me more about how the 'insiders' Vegas works.

When I am in, say Singapore, and I want to go to a club, I ask the hotel concierge and he gets me on a guestlist and I go in. Do I tip the doorman and concierge- yes.

In vegas I am going to drop $$$ at a hotel- and the hotel arranges me to go clubbing and have a good time while i am staying there. Do I tip the doorman at the club, sure. Do i tip the person at the hotel, who is benefitting from my $$$ drop (as probably part of their commission) and who has organised the itinerary as part of my agreement to stay at the hotel- questionable (actually i didn't tip, but bought a small gift back from Vegas).

Hope that clarifies! Enjoy the Weekend, and the football (but the USA will lose!)
