20 ppl bachelor party...oh lord!

Hello everyone, let me start by saying this is an awesome site...I am a long time reader but first time poster. As the title states, I am organizing a 18-20 ppl bachelor party in Aug. We have plans for both Rhino and Sapphire and for the main night (Sat), we are looking at bottle service at Tao, Pure, LAX or Jet. With 20 guys, I do not want to risk getting bumped at XS or Tryst with them being the hot places right now. Plus I think with 20 guys we will have fun anywhere we go so why pay premium.

Questions:
1. Anyone have experience with large groups at Tao, Pure, LAX, or Jet and care to share any advice?
2. Can we choose a table beforehand or is it wherever the host walks you to on the night of?
3. Do I tip the host when we shake hands or after he walks me to a table?
4. We do not have plans for bottle service at the strip clubs. We will do free limo. Do they basically drop us off and we are on our own after that to find a place to sit?
5. My quote from LAX is $2800 (tax/grat included) for 5 bottles. Good deal for 20 guys?
6. With a large group, my main concern is to not get bumped and have no where to go. Can I reserve two clubs and after getting confirmation from one host the day of/or day before that everything is ok, can I cancel the other club then...or is that bad etiquette?

hi there, and welcome to the site.

You should read Kimball's TR, he just planned/organized a bachelor party that was very successful and went very smoothly.. I believe he went to some of the clubs you mention.

Personally, I would rather go elsewhere then LAX.. Maybe I was there on an off night, but the night I was there, it was mostly males..

Good/organized planning in advance for such a large group is so important so good luck!

2. You can if you know the table you want... if its a premium table it will have a higher price/ bottle min

4. that is pretty much it... you could also get a buy one get one on bottles if you decide to go that route... just ask for a host there and they will take care of you with a b1g1. sapphires rockstar lounge would accomadate 20 of you.

5. $140 pp... not a bad deal... ive never been to lax though...

6. getting bumped mostly happens on busy holiday weekends... if thats not the case for you i wouldnt really worry about it... which in turns opens back up tryst or xs for ya.... shop around and ask for deals imo...

who quoted you with gratuity in their price??? Ive never heard of a direct host doing that. sounds like your using an outside vip service.

At lax I would get 2 tables next to each other u should be able to buy. 3 get 1. Free for 10. Guys per table.

Also for standard vodka u should be bake to get bottles including tip for 450-475

Even though it is a regular wkend, XS and Tryst crowds really scares me. I remember the last time I was there the crowd outside (at 10pm) was just ridiculous. I can't imagine trying to walk past that crowd with 19 guys following behind me. Plus Patrick Frank mentioned I would get line passes which does not sound very VIP. Every other host mentioned VIP entry. What is a line pass?

I added 8% tax and 20% grat myself from the bottle price given to me by a host. Does not include handshake $$ though. I was thinking $100-400 depending on the table??

I have not tried the B3G1 route, definitely worth asking thx. If its 1 bottle for every 4 guys and assuming I get it, does that mean I only have to buy 3 or 4 and get 1 free or do I still need to buy 5 (to cover 20 guys) and get 1 additional bottle?

tipping is such a sore subject here, because everyone has their own ideas about it. Some dont understand the concept at all, and some like to make it rain. IMHO a bare min. for that size group would be $10 a head.

Can I suggest that if you haven't booked hotels, and are thinking of a harrah's property (Caesars, Planet H etc.) they have a group booking/organising service that can assist in sorting out all your arrangements, yes you will have to pay for what you use (nothing is free), but they will sort the itinerary with you- tell them what you want to do and they will sort it- and it will take all the aggro out- surprised nobody posted you about it!

Don't know your issue with me offering ADVICE on an ADVICE forum?

I post where i can offer value- I used TE in 2009, and organised stag trips on my own in 2007 and 2008. Using TE was excellent, vs waiting hours for queues or using hosts.

I would recommend TE again and again.

I am sorry you don't like it as it it cuts out the "middle men" ,but for large groups it is useful and a good service - get over it- of my 63 posts, 8 are about Total Experiences, which I know about. I can't tell you where the best table is at Tao/XS or the other stuff you guys comment on.

As I said previously:

- I think the forum is great, and gave me a load of good ideas where to go and what to do when I am in vegas, with some current trends, however, i don't see what is bullshit.

- Organising a group of guys on a trip to vegas, and getting hotels, clubs etc organised from the UK is NOT easy.

A- nd of all the times I have been to Vegas, meeting with someone who is based in the UK, whose job it is to sort out british trips, with a big british presence (Harrah's have about 10 casinos in the uk) was certainly is the easiest..

...look I have organised 3 trips of brits to las vegas. I do not want to be meeting a number hosts when i go out there for the first time for a number of different clubs, and when i tried it i had mixed results. It is NOT the ONLY way to get into clubs, but it is the difference between say using a travel agent to organise your holiday and tie the whole lot up for you giving you more time to relax and enjoy, or booking bits individually, and dealing with odds and ends internationally or when you get there.

- Sorry if you feel that way, but IMO for UK groups going to the US and Vegas for a stag, I would recommend at least looking at the aforementioned website and emailing to see if they can do anything.

The forum is to offer advice, the poster asked for it... that's my advice!

Pretty sure my post doesnt comment on your advice or the fact that your giving it. It simply questioned why your surprised no else has given the same advise? Your last statement implies there are OTHERS on the forum that support your advice, and CLEARLY there is NOT. Otherwise, instead of trying to give your opinion of what you think the forum is about, to the person who runs it, you would of posted some links of post showing there are others who use this service.

Obviously, weve had this argument before. Its not the advice that bothers me, its the sales pitch.

And I call BS on 8 out of 63, and anyone who clicks on find all post by user could see that, but I doubt anyone cares, and neither do I. I know youve contributed other things and Thank You for that. Dont think we dont appreciate it, but I have every right to my opinion too.

You can do this on your own...

I had a group of 9 at Pure... it went very smooth. But a group of 20 is a different story.

I have been to LAX one time... Had a great time... It was more the friend / girls I was with... than the club. Getting in was a pain in the ass... there was a line for tables and even with 2 hot girls we had to wait... it was a mess out front. Pure is a much smoother process. I blame the host who is no longer listed on this site. But once in, it was a great night.

I would not worry too much about getting bumped... it's not a holiday weekend... or a top club... that's why LAX could be a smart choice.

I would not worry about where your table is... it will be fine. With 20 guys you should make the party and have bouncer bring girls to you.

I did some math on the quote... my math is not great... we'll see how it goes. If $2800 is your final price with tax and tip... and then you strip away that tax and tip... you are paying about $403 a bottle... that sounds good. However, If I was buying 3,4,5 bottles at LAX... I would want some comp bottles coming my way. You could take that quoted price and say ok... but I want one comp bottle... or a comp bottle and some champagne... ask for something.

Over super bowl weekend I had a table at LAX... 2 guys / 2 girls... B1G1 bottle deal... the bottle of sky was $375. Just to give you an idea.

To sum it up... If I had 20 guys I would do this... but, If I'm buying 5 bottles at LAX... I want something tossed my way... This is not XS.

Thanks for the info Kimball. I definitely plan to ask for some sort of comp. Question, where was your table at lax? And did you like it? Do you know how the upstairs tables are? I heard not to get those.
