best time of the year to go to vegas?

just recovering from this past weekend in vegas and my friends and i are already planning our next trip...2 questions:

1) if you could go any month/week/weekend out of the year, when would you go?

2) if you could go August or September (not Labor Day), when would you go?

Ok, so i know you said not labor day but... this year im going between Sept. 1st and Sept. 7th. Between my work schedule and that monday being a holiday i will only be having to take one day vacation from work while actually being on vacation for a whole week! Who wouldnt take this opportunity? I cant wait...

1. Any weekend! Although I personally like to avoid the big holidays. It just gets too packed and costly for my tastes.

2. I like September, but you really can't go wrong. If you're big in to packed pool parties and can deal with the heat, August.

I'm not a big fan of the month of August, temps in the triple digits are just too darn hot for me.

I've gone the past 3 years in September, I always arrive on the sunday before labor day. Most of the folks are heading home that day and things start getting back to normal. 95% sure I'm going again this September, the 5th thru the 9th.

The slowest times are right before christmas and the hottest part of July, I believe. It was 116 the last time I went in july. Also it's cheap.

Still had fun though. I hear great things about halloween.

+1 to what everyone said above. I think the best months personally are May and September. But there really are no "bad" times to go.

Although last year I went LDW, but it was last minute (planned 5 days before), Id pick the weekend before LDW or the weekend after.

Halloween weekend is definitely my favorite.. other than that every weekend in vegas is fun!

If I'm going to the desert I better get some heat! I like June because it's hot but not scorching like August. Plus hotel prices seem cheaper than May. I've been there in July @ 114F, and in April where the days were nice but the nights got too cool - and it was really windy.

Oh and I always say the best time to go to Vegas is based on what you're definition of a EPIC Vegas trip is. For me, HALLOWEEN is my FAVORITE Vegas trip...

- The Weather is great.... (low to mid 80's)... get's cool at night, but not too cold.
- The room rates are good...not great, but it's all good.
- The Freaks come out at night... NO SHIT.... It's epic the ENTIRE WEEKEND... Something cool going on each night at the local top end clubs...
- Things to do off the strip.. (for me NHRA Drag Racing at "the Strip" at LVMS...
- The next week is the SEMA show. If you love cars... you gotta see it...

So, i'd do a October 29th - Nov 4th trip if you can. I am....

Ive heard from friends who go to SEMA that its a ridiculously busy time, and that the city is just packed with guys. If they werent there for work, they would never go.

For some, that might be two strikes against SEMA.

Been the past two yeards for Halloween and it is pretty insane. The only thing is that the weather does get cold, but everywhere is just packed with girls dressed up crazy sexy! But the pool partys are just insane and set up things for the night so it's hard to say. But I'd say can't go wrong with LDW or Halloween.

yup! i went last year for halloween and it was insane. i'm probably going again this year...
