So I'll be down for either Toronto or Montreal if I can find a nice RT airfare [$571 right now to Montreal and $509 to Toronto are the best on Air Canada - yikes]

Nice! Short and sweet can still be fun... I used Kayak and I managed to get $482 direct / roundtrip from LAX to YZZ through Virgin.

You might be coming to TO during the film festival (TIFF).

Usually early September. All the prices will spike during this, especially downtown hotels / lodging. You absolutely want to be right downtown, so book early.
