This will be interesting to see where they try to place PH in thier market plan if they do end up completing the buyout.

I am sad to think we may never see the 10 nights for $600 again but am hopeful that there may be another dirt cheap option mid-strip on my total rewards card.

that kinda sucks. i like the PH the way it is. I find it's harder to collect rewards at HET properties..

They have been operating 19 billion dollars in debt since 2008? Holy shit, lol. We'll see if anything changes at PH when i stay there in a few weeks.

I didn't read the article yet, but they had purchased a good portion of PH's debt a couple months ago, but not enough to entirely control the company.

Harrah's needs to stop taking over more shit and fix up their own properties. Was hoping they'd keep the management the same, sadness.

This really sucks from a consumer aspect. With less and less diversity driving competition with the big two - MGM and Harrah's taking over the whole strip complimented with the recession likely ending sooner than later...The great deals and offers are sure to start to disappear

I'm not so sure about that, given the massive number of rooms City Center will have open in 2010, the sheer quantity of numbers alone will keep rates down for awhile.

But Harrah's is biting off a lot and so is MGM-Mirage. If City Center doesn't perform well enough to achieve a proper profit margin in the next couple years, MGM-Mirage will be The Dubai Company's bitch.

It's the biggest gamble ever in Vegas. If MGM-Mirage falls...that shit would be disastrous.

You def have a good point, but ultimately I dont think MGM or Harrah's would care where you stayed as long as you stayed with them. So with only 2 big fish in the sea I see less and less competition driving down prices. But your right if MGM fails, and can def happen with the huge gamble they are taking, Vegas would be in shambles.

IMO when Harrah takes over, said property goes down hill. I'm sorry to hear this. I loved PH and it's vibe....now we have to wait and see.
