  • I have a dilemma

My gf and I have been to vegas a few times already, and we don't have much trouble getting into clubs. We go a little early, or get a hand stamp from an event happening earlier at the club or we just stand in line and get in the straight forward way.

We are going again in mid december, but this time we are going with a group of people who, at best, can generously be described as... nerds. When I've attempted to talk to them about dress codes and such, their eyes glaze over and they respond with a reflexive nodding that is surely meant to placate me by suggesting some amount of comprehension on their part. But since I know they haven't made any clothing purchases since our talk, my concern only grows.

They do want to go, and I want them to go. But I'm justifiably worried that they won't get in. Even moreso because I usually go to the more high profile places. I don't want to walk in and leave them outside but I don't want to wait out there with them either. Worse yet, our group ratio is all wrong. It'll be something like 5:3 men to women.

The obvious answer is of course to get bottle service. And I would be perfectly willing to go this route but there's no way they would all be willing to spend that much. Probably none of them are.

After some research I'm down to the following potential options.

    1) vegas.com front of line passes
    2) "host" service sites that offer to walk you in for some fee south of bottle service but north of cover charge.
    3) bribing the right people.

I'd really appreciate some advice on how viable these are. If any of these options are viable, could I get some pointers, since I haven't really used any of them?

Perhaps none of them are viable and I'm out of luck?

I would go with number 3 if you didnt want to wait in line...

your ratio isnt that bad imo... 5/3 is acceptable... 8/0 guys obviously would have a harder time getting in... If you got there early, when the doors open 5/3 shouldnt have a hard time getting in....

But it is also a smart idea to Get on the guestlist and toke your host when you meet him, if you didnt want to wait in line... a little north of cover for the guys should be pretty solid...

Do some practice runs for the outfits with your friends... im sure you can help them put together at least a couple of outfits...

Its good that you are preparing and organizing things ... im the same way... just remember to have fun with it and if they wont let your friends in just tell em to shoot the security with the pewpewlazors ftw!!

Good luck irl ... hit me up if you need any other help

bribe the right people. I'm sure your group of friends all have a decent looking dress/collar shirt and dress shoes they can wear?

option 3 is best, what you could always do is contact one of the hosts here on the site tell them you found them on JC.com and explain your dilemma to them and ask them if they could help you out if you took care of them, dont go into detail about the dress code problem obviously!! like DE said, do some dress rehersals with your friends and just tell them you want to make sure they have the best possible time in vegas and you dont want any issues, I think they will appreciate the fact that you care, good luck!

Thanks for the advice, sounds great.

Who do I grease exactly? The first doorman I see? Or a host I contact beforehand? Where do I find these contacts. Oh and I thought hosts are just there to get you bottle service?

Also, how much should I give?

I do think that I can eventually get them some clean looking collared shirts and appropriate slacks/shoes.

          Again, much appreciated.

Ah, looks very useful. Much appreciated.

Still a newb as far as how much to pay for what, etc.

$20-$30 per person should work. If you're not looking for bottle service, you can still contact the host listed here on the site for the specific clubs and tell them about your party, how how you can get in, that you'll take care of them.

Or you can grease the doorman. You want it to be the guy in charge. Look for a guy with a clipboard or the guy that other doorman keep going to. Sometimes it can be so packed though, that you might have to settle for whoever you can actually wave down.

Talk to the hosts. I asked one once about getting in with no wait, and he said "Everything for a price." So do that, you shouldn't have any problem with that ratio either.

And +1 to Drew about looking for a guy with the clipboard. Sometimes the doormen will point you to him.

Thanks I think I know what to do now.

I will contact a host in advance. Looking for a guy with a clipboard, I'm not that comfortable with, it just seems too up in the air.

I would like to know I have something lined up before going. Thanks for the advice.

It sounds to me that you might actually save money doing bottle service. If you go around greasing and paying covers anyway, why not just split bottle service between you all? Guaranteed you'll get in and have a place for the nerds to call home base

                        Would it though?

It was my understanding bottle service runs about 150+ per person.

Paying 30 per person to skip a line plus 30 or so for cover comes out to far less yeah?

Or am I missing something key here?

30 to skip the line (+ gen admission), and drinks. You're missing what you would pay for drinks.

Don't underestimate the value of having a place to sit after partying so much too!
