Vegas Clubs in December

Glad I stumbled across this site!

My wife and I will be out in Vegas on Dec. 18th for the weekend. I haven't been out since my bachelor party in 2004 and with her in 2003 for NYE. Anyways, I'm wondering what the lines will be like the weekend before Christmas? From looking at the schedules on vegas.com, a handful of places will be closed from mid-December through Christmas.

We are staying at Rio (thanks to an incredible deal on deltavacations.com) and tentatively plan on hitting the clubs at Palms on Friday and VooDoo Lounge/I-Bar on Saturday. Are the VIP bracelets worth it this time of year to bounce between Ghostbar/Rain/Moon/Playboy? I don't recall too much trouble moving from Ghostbar to Rain with general admin the last time we were out there, although we also thought that we hit jackpot on the slot machines big time and then realized it was the ATM on the Palms casino floor spitting out the cash...

Last year we went to Playboy Club and Moon. The problem I have with Playboy Club is that if you're not a high roller or without bottle service, you're basically stuck in an ultra lounge with minimal dance floor space and it gets really crowded at times. It's not really a club in typical Vegas sense. The drinks, if I remember correctly are also a bit steeper here ($18 for a vodka cranberry, no idea what the well vodka was either).

However, their bathrooms are absolutely magnificent. Those alone are worth a look over.

Moon, though the view is gorgeous isn't really a favorite of mine. Obviously this is just my personal experience and preference but I found the bartenders quite inept, the crowd to be shit and the caliber of people around were...well, not very fun. Everyone seemed to have a stick up their ass.

I prefer Jet, Wasted Space and Body English in December, but again, just speaking from experience from my last December visit.

I'll be there that weekend as well this year

You might find the crowd at Tryst a little better than the one @ Playboy/Moon and all those.. great view from Moon though, but I'd stick with Tryst or another big club.

What can you tell me about Jet? I've been thinking it might be difficult to get into Tryst/XS on Saturday the 21st because of UFC, so I've been thinking about going to Jet instead. Is it really any good?

Been to Jet and probably will go again, but only Monday [locals night]. It has a main room that's rectangular with bars surrounding it and then the inner floor with the tables and the medium-sized dance floor. They also have two side rooms with a bar in each room - one for house and another for hip-hop. These two rooms tend not to get too packed - certainly not as packed as the main room.

Jet's probably on par with Moon & BE - maybe a notch below it, in my opinion. Maybe the weekends are better, but I'd use Jet as a solid backup if Tryst or XS are definite no-go's. Still a fun time.

Jet's relaxed and the different rooms with different music are sure to please just about any club music pallet. Jet is easily my second favorite club, Wasted Space being my absolute favorite.

I had a great time at Wasted Space over LDW. Its much different because its a small venue and has more of a rock feel to it, but the music was GREAT and there was a ton of fun people there.

Might not be a bad idea to check out Wasted Space and Body English in December before the new club at Hard Rock opens up and they change around WS/BE.

The UFC is not going to have that much effect on the clubs during this time of year. I was there for Couture/Lesnar, and the clubs were not overly crowed. It was a typical night in Vegas.

Agree with you on Jet(my absolute favorite). I've been to Vegas 4 times and always make it a point to go to Jet at least once. I've been there on a Friday, Saturday, and Monday all night were great.

+1...crowd at Tryst have deeper pockets, thus more free drinks

I'll plus one on that too - Wasted Space is great since it's a bit of a step away from the style & feel from the other LV clubs. Might have to fit a visit in next week someday!

Definitely go on a Weds or Friday. Thursday Night Rides are kind of a locals only thing and sometimes it's not busy at all and rather empty. But The Sin City Sinner's are a great 80's cover band and really make it fun. The did a cover of Flight of the Conchord's, "Business Time" and all 40 of us went wild. Good times.

If you hit up Wasted Space make sure to see Cory. He took over for Chad Dallas when he left. Hes a solid guy and really took care of us.
