Definitely wise to just rent if you are going to spend 3 months in those location. Selling a house in this market is no joke.

+1, you need to rent. Its not worth playing the housing market at all. Even if you buy a place and put it on the market the next day theres no guarantee you will even sell it by the time your out of there in 3 months.

I would not buy a house unless i was sponsored which I am not.

My primary plan is to spend February and March in Florida for Spring break, followed by a few mid west states on the way to LA for may June then vegas for July and August through march 2011 in new york working.

Job market right now in NYC is tough - huge pool of laid-off, but quality workers vying for jobs [that on top of companies scaling back some NYC-area operations to other parts of the country]. But, hey, worth a shot!

LA , studios 1bed room can be found anywhere from $800-$1000 /month (very sketchy ones) Decent ones at $1200 and up. Luxury $2000+

hmm well thats not that bad. If i wanna live and its 1000us a month approx and im here for 12 months thats decent.

I have a job interview over the phone for a job in texas on tuesday. pretty excited.

Part of me hopes i dont get it though so i can hit up spring break like i planned for a full month
