hey peeps im back.

Ok heres the latest update.

Australia now have a 1 year working Visa for any student whos been a student longer than 1 year.

Dec 1 i start my new tafe course and in 12 months ill be landing in USA for atleast a year. While I am there, I will get my employer, whoever employs me to sponosor me for longer.

I want to get my greencard and buy a house in LA so i can shuffle back and forward from sydney to LA for the rest of my life. I think my kids, if and when i have them will appreciate that.

my other option is apply directly to an employer and get sponsored to come over. I am currently workin for ericsson and have applied for a position in their operations centre in Plano, Texas. Yep thats where ill be working lol.

What are peoples thoughts of texas and plano specifically.

Just throwing this out there, if your not economically stable i dont think LA would be the best place to buy a second home to just jump back and forth to. Its one of the highest real estate markets in the US.

lol. Im not into selling drugs and I dont think id go near meth (i think we call it ice here).

I dont know about prices so when I say LA im just guessing. On the beaches of sydney we pay around 750k USD for a house. So id expect to pay around that much but couldnt afford anywhere in the millions.

The only problem I see with mortages is going back and forward becomes difficult when your having continually quit jobs. Youd probably need your own business before I could do that.

My dream is probably not that thought out but I guess I have to start somewhere.

I would say Plano is really in the middle of no where. LA is diverse and definitely where its at. It really depends where you will be getting a job though.

Another thing to consider.. if you are going to buy a house, you will probably have to do an all cash transaction. I m not sure if there are banks that give out loans to non-residents. Could be too much liability.

All I have had a breakthrough.

I am eligible to come into the states within the next 2 months and I can settle anywhere so where does everyone think i should base myself.

I have been thinking about the coast of LA but perhaps I want a change from where I currently live.

Im on the beaches of sydney and thats all I have ever known. I guess my top choices would be new york or maybe texas?

How about Vegas? I vote for New York or Southern Cali if not Vegas.

If your used to the beaches and everything and you want a change you should for sure go to NYC for a little bit. Just be careful not to get too over your head with expenses because remember it is expensive there.

hmm ideally id love to do 3 months in vegas, 3 months nyc, 3 months LA and 3 months for the rest of USA however that would put me into crappier jobs.

I may follow the events calendar around USA that would be funn. In addition i want to do spring break for a month and vegas for july 4
