Heading to Vegas this weekend, few questions

Hey everybody, stumbled upon this website a while back and it's been great. I'm heading to Vegas this weekend with a buddy, we're both Vegas Virgins, and I still have a few questions, if anyone can help me out it's much appreciated...

Any pool party - If I'm going to Wet Republic, I'm going to wear my bathing suit and a shirt and perhaps have other stuff with me, what do I do with all that when I get in, besides my bathing suit, which I plan on wearing at all times? (Also as a sidenote, I've always been anti sandals(I'm also pretty sure it's genetic), so I'd like to just wear shoes and take them off once I get in as well)

How long of a cab ride is it from the Trop to the Palms? There's no better way to get there either? I'm asking because we may try to head down there for Ditch, then head back after to shower and whatever then had back to the Palms at night, so if its a longer ride, hassle, rush, whatever, we may make other plans.

Compared to a nightclub, we're looking for some bars that are more laid back and quieter where it's easy to start up conversations with wonderful young women, and it's be nice if the place was busy before nightclub hours instead of just during. I've heard there are 2 piano bars and Carnival court are good for that, any others?

Also we want to check out Downtown Thursday, best places for mid 20s single guys for nightlife there as well?

Now on to what your asking... in all honesty bro, if the taxi ride from Trop to Palms is something your going to stress over as in expense wise... you've got something coming. You'll probly be lookin at a $10-15 cab ride each way. So you'd be lookin at about $40-50 for round trip twice!

Second you can take your shoes but be sure to take a back pack to pack them in along with a few other things. Also the floor will probly be hot and if you in and out of the water I'd say just step up and get some sandals or else you might get a few blisters on your feet and that's the last thing you want for your first trip to Vegas

Trop to palms- it's not like it's super far, but it's not on the strip either. It's only like a few bucks more cabbing it there than to other places. Expect to spend $$$ on this trip and don't miss out on Ditch/Palms just cause of a cab ride!

BTW, when are you going? A bunch of us will be there this weekend, check out the thread Sept 17-Sept 20 in the Get Connected thread.

Thanks guys, that cab ride's fine, I expected it to be around that price. I've heard so much about traffic, cabs are hard to find, and things being farther than they seem, etc. I just wanted to make sure.

Sounds like I'll be grabbing some sandals somewhere too. My white shoes are going to be jealous but whatever.

Those are good spots and I know a few on here have hit them up quite a bit. I was going to hit up Carnival on my last trip but ended up gambling and partyig with Nas.... It did loom like it was poppin off when I walked by. I think they draw a slightly crazier and touristy crowd because of all the people walkin the strip. On a weekend it'll almost always be poppin off but on a weekday I don't know.

If you want to wear shoes to the pool, I suggest a pair of Vans slip-ons or something similar.
