I rent a car every time I go to Vegas. Valet parking is free at every casino, and tipping costs less than paying for cabs. Just my personal preference. The Strip has improved public transport since the last time I visited from what I understand, but I like the options cars give you. For example, all those off-strip venues you mentioned--I like being able to take myself around. Now, on the downside, someone can't take as much advantage of the cheap or free alcohol, but oh well

This seems like a mostly nightclub place, but anyone have any opinions/preferences/tips of the lower key bars like Kuhunavilla, Carnival Court or the Piano Bars, like good/bad nights to go, etc?

I've been to Kahunaville before when I was waiting for the doors to open for Mystere (they're right beside each other) and I had a lot of fun. The bartenders do all kinds of tricks and stuff, just a good time.
