The art of ditching, that is...

I just found out my boss will be in Vegas the same week I am. And he wants to get together for, and I quote "A drink--or maybe ten!"... but I don't really want to be in Vegas with my boss lol Bad enough that I see him all the time, but I can never be myself around him.

And I know if we go for drinks, he will want to have dinner.. then he will ask what we are doing the next.. etc... etc.. and my entire vacation will be ruined.

What's the best way to ditch him?

That's just creepy! Work should be kept professional and separate from vacation/down time. He should know that as a boss.

I'd not even try to ditch... I'd just tell him that if you wanted to hang out with him or go to Vegas with him, you would have asked. And tell him that there are plenty of women in Vegas that he can go hang out with that won't be carrying back his stories to the office! haha

Seriously though... tough situation if you feel he would apply pressure on you in the work environment. Still, I'd tell him you already have plans with others and that you want to keep work separate from your personal life and being a "boss" you are sure he can understand and respect that. Then tell him to not stalk you in Vegas!

Sounds like he definitely wants to get in on the action hahah Your best bet is to have a guy by your side during the time with your boss. Then he will think that you are already there with a 'special' someone and you are going to spend time with them.
