  • Help with a very special Weekend!

Hey all, I am new to the forum and was wondering if you could give me some much needed advice/suggestions. I'm 23 and have only been to Vegas when I was like 10, and my girlfriend who is 22 has never been. We've been together for 7 years and Ive decided to finally pop the question in VEGAS!!!. All my friends are aware of this and were planning a big party and trip out there. Obviously this is going to be a great weekend. I'm looking for suggestions on where to stay.. something to really make this memorable, and romantic. Also something hopefully big enough were all my pals can hang out celebrate and stuff before we get ready to go out on the nights. Budget is about 750 per night. We are going over Halloween weekend Oct 30-Nov 1... Any suggestions, hotel promotions, or anything else would be greatly appreciated. I've looked extensively at the Bellagio and Wynn/Encore. Checked out the bellagio's salon suites, etc. and some of the suites at encore. Is a suite really worth it in your eyes. I've been reading through the forums and agree with what some of you say...

    ........

should I just get a standard room and look to take that room budget and fork it over at the clubs???

I've read your advise of talking with the hotel concierge....but by staying at the hotel are you more likely to get put on the guest list through the concierge even on a holiday weekend??
I anticipate we will hit a club on Friday, and probably just do an ultra lounge thing on Saturday. Do we def. need to bring costumes for Halloween. Will we stick out like losers if we dont? lol. I have no problems dresssing up just trying to plan if I need to bring a costume with.

Furthermore, has anyone ever done a helicopter tour of the strip. I think it would be a cool experience for an early evening event, but if its not worth it thats fine. Thanks in advance to all. I really appreciate your help!

welcome aboard!! for what youre looking to do and with that nightly budget, you might want to look into palms place (all suites), that way you can get a nice suite for rather cheap, would be a great place to pregame and hang and youd still have alot of the budget for the nightclubs. do you know where you will be proposing?? take a serious look at top of the world at stratosphere the view is outrageous and its a nice romantic spot. I hear the helicopter tours are very worth it especially for you and your girl I would def plan on that. as for the concierge they should be able to help you out, or just get a table and youll be fine

Thanks for quick response. Haven't really given the location much thought as of yet. I do know it will be on Friday night. I'd figure that my gf and I would do the helicopter thing. It looks like they are at 6pm. Then probably get out of there @ 8ish or so.. then go pop the question.. Just in time to start the party off! I will def look into Top of the World at the Strat, and I just briefly checked out the Palms Place while here at work and it def looks nice. I would have never thought to look there. Thank you for that!

now just so youre aware, the palms place is off the strip and is connected by a moving walkway to the palms which is where the casino is, BUT the palms place is awesome they have a great restaurant in simon, and a nice lobby bar and a nice quiet pool, but you have the ammenities of the plams pool and all the clubs there if youre looking for some craziness, and its about a $6-8 cab ride to the strip but I would highly recommend it, as would other members here im sure. and its very reasonable for a nice suite

Thanks for the heads up. Being located on the strip would be nice, but isn't essential. Basically I have only 3 real priorities while I'm here... 1. to get engaged. 2. to do the Vegas club scene (my gf is a huge club go-er not so much for me, but she would go nuts over the Vegas club scene I'm sure) 3. Get absolutely shit faced-shadow blasted, pee your pants drunk..with the latter probably being the most important..haha jk..maybe.... but seriously.. most of the group has never been to Vegas and were just looking to take the weekend by storm..have a great time.. and celebrate something that's been a long time coming! Whatever way you feel is the best way to accomplish this..we'll def adhere to.

honestly with that type of good attitude youre gonna have a shtload of fun even if you were staying in the hooters hotel, so palms place would be my suggestion but my only hesitation is that its your first time there so the strip is prob where you wanna be, so you can just roam around ee the places stopping to hvae drinks etc......whats everyone else have to say?

I think a center strip hotel would be good. Bellagio or Wynn/Encore. You'd be set with Encore since it has the club XS. The Bank at the Bellagio is good too.

+1 on the Wynn/Encore and Bellagio. I've stayed at Encore and their rooms are freaking awesome nice!!! I would also include Venetian/Palazzo because that's another nice hotel/casino. For your first time your probly gonna wanna be on the strip... but Palms is also really nice, I havent stayed at Palms Place but Ive stayed at Palms mini suite and from what I remember they are awesome.

I'd also recommend the Bellagio over Palms Place. It's a place that should suit the memory of a proposal with the design, watershow, and atmosphere. You could probably get a free upgrade (using the $20 sandwich trick) or some champagne to your room of you tell the why of why you're in LV (just make sure your soon-to-be fiance's not in hearing distance!).

Or you can call them in advance and tell them that you plan on proposing that way they can enter that in the notes and when you check in the person checking you in will read it and possibly hook you up

haha my girlfriend is pretty crafty. I'm 99% sure she has already found this website and knows it coming... nah hopefully she wont! but she will probably find some way to spoil the surprise at the last minute...

Thanks for all the advise everyone! I really do appreciate it cuz I have NO clue about anything in Vegas. Any other pointers you can provide? Is it feasible to think we can get into Bank @ Bellagio, XS/Tryst @ encore, whatever is @ the palms place if we choose to stay there (gotta do some research here in a bit). Basically we will probably club @ the place we stay for ease. and then do the bar - ultralounge exploring all day on Sat. and Saturday night.....

But thank you thank you thank you for all your replies. Its much appreciated!!!!!

If that's how it plays out we'll have to find a way for me to buy u a few drinks haha
