s i will most likely have to fly out of hartford (i live much closer to there than boston) and that is a total shithole airport with really crappy flight selection.

Might wanna try T.F. Greene in Providence. Might be worth the 2 hour drive if your from the Western CT area. My gf lives in MA so I know all about the shittyness of travel to/from NE and along the I-95/I-84 Corridor

until recently i was living in southeast MA and it was beautiful because i was an hour from both logan and tf greene. now i am in western MA so i have....hartford. i normally wouldn't care about driving the extra distance to boston but seeing as i will be flying in the middle of the winter, there is a 50/50 chance of a huge snowstorm the day i leave or when i come back, so i am trying to minimize the drive time as much as possible.

I've decided i'm going, but i'm on a budget so i'll have to make some sacrifices. Instead of flying, i'm going to run there. Eating is a fixed cost, and if i'm fueling myself I might as well use it.

I will be bringing my camping equipment as well. Why choose one place to stay on the strip? With my tent, I can stay anywhere I want (until i'm kicked out).

As for showers and such, well there are plenty of public restrooms and many fountains/waterfalls for me to hit. Let's not forget the pools. Maybe I can find a bubble party?

I think I have a good plan in place, but if anyone else has suggestions please post them. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

yeah that's a great point.... I didn't think about that. I had the horrible experience of traveling in the blizzard of 05 or 06 I cant remember. But Boston got something stupid like 23" of snow. Took us like 2 1/2 hrs to get to Logan from the Taunton Area... then the plane sat on the runway for 9 hours while getting deiced at least 6 different times. Was suppose to arrive in Ohio at 8pm... actual arrival 4:30 am. Worst experience EVER....wouldn't even wish it upon my nemesis.

hahaha....living in new england in the winter is pretty much tantamount to torture.

i just thought amsterdam was dirty and depressing....i did love the Rijksmuseum though. If i was going to do new year's eve abroad, sydney would be my top choice and i think dubai would be amazing too.

i want to do new years in vegas one year, but there really is something to be said for having nye in midsummer. anywhere outside near the harbour is a party, and some nightclubs set up huge parties right on the beach.

Think i'd like to do a london new years too.
