It hasn't closed. Samantha was there last night and DJ Tina will be there for her normal Saturday night set tonight.
As Jack said, they are appealing the ruling to not "renew" their license.
That being said, they will operate tonight and for "We Rock Hip Hop" on Monday. After that, they will probably be closed. My hope is that it will only be temporary and they will be back in operation soon after the meeting of the licensing board on August 4th.
Again, as Jack said, Opium Group has a lot of resources at their disposal and they will put them ALL behind this effort.

When I'm in Miami, Mansion and Louis are two of my favorites. (Not really a Set fan though!?)
I've probably done a little more research than most people on the Prive situation though. All the info I provided came from Vegas news websites. If anything new pops up, I'll copy it here. (I'm also a jc.com fan)Comment

To answer the question about the Monday DJ at Prive, it's DJ Franzen of Hot 97.5. He's also been Poetry's headlining DJ every Fri Sat and Sun night for the past 4 years (who I recruited for whatever it's worth) so it doesn't surprise me to hear people rave about his sets.Last edited by djmasterweb; 07-25-2009, 08:37 PM.Comment

Chinois just did close down. The situation at the Forum Shops is quite interesting to say the least. We'll have to see how this one plays out.
As far as "real" hip hop, I hear ya Mr. Vegas. However you already know how it goes in Vegas (and most tourist based cities)... They want what they hear on the radio

This might sound like a conspiracy, but I wonder if they let Prive fail so they could bring in a new club. I heard that one of the bigger club management companies have already bought up that space of Planet Hollywood, I believe it's the same company that runs Poetry. From what I gathered, they already are in the stages of trying to finalize a re-open date at Planet Hollywood. Could just be rumours of course.
