Here it is. It's not going to be spectacular as I didn't spend a ton of time there and I wasn't sober for basically any of it.
Had regular room reservations. Got there in swim trunks fresh off a binge at Ditch definitely not looking like I was breaking the bank. Walked right up to the front no line. This was at about 8pm.
The front desk asked if I was checking in, he was a younger guy probably mid 20s. I said yes, and i'm also wondering if there are any complimentary upgrades, preferably a jacuzzi suite. I've found from researching that if you know exactly what you want and ask for it, the odds seem a little better.
Now at this point, i'm way out of it so I didn't sandwich a $20 and didn't have one but he did the upgrade without asking. I threw a hundred down though, he looked at it, grabbed it, and said "what do you want me to do with this sir". I said "have a good night" and walked away. I'd recommend at least doing the $20, but probably not getting in the condition I was and dropping $100.
The room itself was older obviously, but really nice. Had a nice couch and chair in a living room like area but an OLD tv no flat screen. It was an all open floorplan. Behind the couches/chair/coffee table was a nice king size bed. From there it was all marble floors to a whirlpool (not a jacuzzi for a bunch of people) in the middle of the room, two sinks on each side, two large closets, and a regular bathroom and bidet as well as stand up shower.
It wasn't a fantasy suite at the Palms, but overall a great deal for the price and location. It was right in the middle of everything. I like staying somewhere new each time so I probably won't go back for awhile unless it's an unbeatable deal, but I definitely wouldn't tell someone not to stay there.
