WOW .. Great Las Vegas Air/Hotel Packages

No this is not spam, just wanting to spread the word on this deal I found online @ Southwestvacations.com They are calling it the Friends Fly and Stay free package. I searched a trip for late August (22-25) and found i almost $300 less that I previously searched for a week or so ago. (pre-4th of July weekend. http://www.southwestvacations.com/sp...flashAd_FS0436
I wonder if expedia, travelocity and others will soon be following.

If tangoplus wanted to get in on that deal, Buffalo would be the closest airport from Toronto since I don't believe they fly out of Pearson International.

Be very careful with the Southwest Vacation Packages. They can fool you thinking you're getting a great deal but in reality you're not. In every occasion, I gotten a better deal just booking my flight thru Southwest and my hotel seperate. Do your homework and research before booking everything thru them.

Totally true...I booked with them once last summer and the only reason it was cheaper was b/c:

1. We only had 2 pp coming from the same city, but 3 people to split the room with

2. It was semi last minute and the airfare from phoenix was way more expensive than usual, so it was a good deal

However, every other time I've checked, it's cheaper to book separately.

Yes, price compare when you are going to Las Vegas. And yes booking separately is usually the best way to do it. And now because it's not usually any savings to get a round trip vs 2 1 ways, I'd even shop one airline for one direction, another for the return.

One thing i do like about SouthWest is when their prices go down, and YOU catch it, you can go online, and re-book the flight w/ the new prices and have the difference (100%) as credit for a future flight in the next 12 months. My last trip in May this happened to both legs of my trip, and I have $100 to be used for my next trip, not much, but $100 will get me a bottle at CA (actually I'd rather put in a slot machine, or all on Black)
oh and SouthWest also has direct flights from San Antonio, everyone else makes you connect in Dallas or Phoenix. That makes all the difference.

Never really had a problem with Southwest - I prefer them since I can a) have free checked bags and b) change my flight without penalty. Oh, and they're pretty cheap most of the time.

Gotta agree 100% I always fly Southwest & they seem to have the most non-stop flights as well.
