  • I think this facebook status message sums it up...

From a local independent host's facebook page: "Got lots of clients coming in tonight, cha-ching!!!!"

Pretty much sums up why people shouldn't use them in most cases. They see everyone as dollar signs and could careless to overcharge people for things they could easily do themselves.

Speaking of which, Keebler just helped spot another one that was going through the forums sending members unsolicited messages. While this one was spelled correctly, ruling out the possibility of it being Michael Taylor, the e-mail address did trace back to Platinum Pass. (Surprise, Surprise).

As usual, ignore it. User was banned, blocked, and....I'm gonna not say more.

Something tells me that alienating you is eventually not going to end well for their business, as you have legit relationships with most of the hosts/doormen/etc in the city.

    Good job on their part.

Theres lots of poeple out there that only care about money. While business is always about money, people tend to forget what gets them that money. RELATIONSHIPS. You crap on your relationships you can forget about that money because no one is going to want to work with you. Its so true about its not what you know, its who you know.

And im glad to know all of you

Yeah, with the mentality of that guy, it seems as if his business will eventually fall.

It's like, I can setup a lemonade stand, piss inside a cup, and make a sale. But that won't make the customer to want to come back.

The key to success is to setup long term relationships.

If he's so busy why is he messing around by sending you messages?

Or constantly trying to add me to every social networking site on the internet. :|

              Agreed.

Though, since it's Vegas and there's a high turnover in visitors, this guy can probably get away with selling piss in a cup for a good while, 'cause first-timers won't know any better.

The efficient market theory behind hosting just takes a little longer to take effect 'cause he can get away with generating a load of first-time volume for a while.

And I'm sorry - that sucks. I really don't envy hot girls on internet forums - just WAY too much attention, no?

It's my own fault. In the beginning when I first started posting I gave him my email to see what he had to offer.

But he's abusing that now by doing what he's doing/etc.

Sounds like all of the things I hated about selling cars.

Well, most of the things. Regardless I just plain hated selling cars.
