  • Flamingo Review

Just wanted to drop a quick review on the Flamingo, since I never would've thought to stay here if we hadn't been comped.

It was a lot nicer than I expected, and we were even in one of the older rooms. Plenty adequate for a base of operations, shower had good water pressure, everything worked fine, solid WiFi signal, etc.

For the prices you pay to stay here, and the dead center strip location, I can pretty honestly recommend it. The only downside is there are ton of really busted hookers hanging out in the casino at 3/4 in the morning and they're pretty annoyingly aggressive.

So I'd give the place a 3.5/5 and say it's definitely a great spot for like a guys trip where you really don't care about being somewhere like Wynn/Encore, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, etc.

Nice review...it does have an awesome location. I have heard the GO rooms are pretty nice and can sometimes be had by tipping $20 at check in

Have been staying there for the past 5 yrs or so....Even as our comp has increased we hold true to the old....Great local, cheap as shit, fun pool, and not uppety uppety!

We have our choice now of where we want to stay and since we only hit the room only 4 hrs a day you cant beat this place. I highly recommend this place for the dudes/girls that are looking to gamble, rock out and enjoy what Vegas has to offer rather than how nice the ammenities in the room are.

Yeah, we tried for that but I think because we were in a comped room we only managed to get bumped up to a strip view room.

Go! room would have been nice because I heard they have iPhone/iPod docks, but it still worked out well enough for us!

Oh that's still a great deal and it's always nice to have the view! The ipod docks are always helpful. I bring my cords that hookup to the tv as well, just in case, since you can still play your music that way.

Completely agree. I'm not really a suite person myself (although i've always been a broke college student in the past). I'm all about location and cost effectiveness for a place to lay my head for a few hours, shower, and store my goods.

I really liked the Flamingo. The rooms were decent sized and clean. The gambling was good there. The pool was pretty nice and I loved the outdoor blackjack cabana right by it. The buffet was pretty good (although i'm not a huge buffet guy myself). I did well at 3/6 limit in their small poker room (should call it "poker area"). That, and it being right in the center of the strip definitely make it a great spot.

I'm trying out Ballys in July for the same reasons I tried out Flamingo. Similar location and cost, i'll have to see about the rest.

Yeah, seriously, for a no frills party weekend I can definitely wholeheartedly recommend it.

Thanks for the review. We're staying there in August because of price and location. We didn't want to spend a lot on a room since we'd only use it to sleep, shower, and change in. Managed to get 4 nights for $220.

Definitely worth it man, try to slip them a $20 at the check in and get upgraded to either a strip view room or a GO! room.

I like the Flamingo a lot. Rooms are clean, restaurtants are decent, fun pool, good guests, middle of the strip, and next to O'sheas. My friend said there is like condos on site too. I have never seen them, but she has stayed in them before.

The pool gets really crowded though doesn't it? Is that for the big pool or the adults only one?
