We have a group of about 5 of us (all guys) going on EDC weekend for a Bachelor party. None of us have ever been to Vegas. We want to go see Steve Aoki on Friday at Wet Republic or Avicii Saturday at Marquee, but it looks like tickets are sold out on the Wet Republic website for guys. Is it even possible to get into one of these without a ticket by just buying one when we get there? If so, are there any benefits to getting tickets before going? Also, do you think we need to reserve tables now for the clubs at night or will we be ok getting them a day or 2 before going? TIA
Need help- Noob going to pool parties on EDC weekend

Start contacting the hosts now for a table! 1 or 2 days out, especially that weekend, odds are the table mins will be insane, if even available, depending on the club, dj, desire for location, etc. It is a monster festival/weekend and everyone is wanting to see their dj's so the demand will be high.Happily sponsoring the Las Vegas economy since July 1996

You can do cabanas, beds, pads, etc.(every pool has their own titles for real estate) or pre sale tix. Don't go day of for general admission because the lines may take hours depending on the dj unless you get there right when it opens and even then how many others trying to do the same thing?
Snoop around the sight and read through the posts, you will learn a ton of stuff quickly. I would suggest put a schedule together of where you want to go when that the group agrees upon, find out from your group how much each person is willing to put up to get a total $ amount available and then put it out on here to have peeps give their opinions and suggestion.
Remember you will have to add auto gratuity (waitress tip), state tax, probably LET fee on top of the commitment. Add in a tip to your host for getting you a table, cabana, etc, plus bus boy tip and maybe bouncer tip to keep peeps away or pull women in to party. So a $1k commitment is really $1600-1800 for that 1 night/day as long as you don't exceed the 1k commitment.
The question then is whether or not your group is willing to dish $300-$400 each for just 1 night or day assuming 5 peeps? Now multiply that by 3 or 4 clubs/pools you go to and you are talking 1200-1600 per person. Now I am probably low balling the numbers a little bit because EDC brings in a ton of people looking to do what you want to do so minimums may go up. The hotter the location, the bigger the demand, the higher the cost. Welcome to Vegas! There are others on here that can shed more light but this is just a low ballpark number.
You can also go pre sale tix for say 50-100 per person. Load up the room with liquor, beer, etc and pre game then go to the venue. Drinks are $15-20/per so 8 drinks with tip say $160 plus $50 for presale tix = $210 per person for 1 venue. For an extra $90, again lowball, is it worth it to the group to get a table and have a waitress bring you your drinks and take in the scenery or stand in line waiting?Happily sponsoring the Las Vegas economy since July 1996

At the places you've chosen, GA will be a terrible way to spend a few hours in your day. Even if you get there early, they will hold that line until the reservation guests and presales get in, you can get with a host and plan on tipping very well to expedite your entry. If in the budget 1500+ atleast for anything, prob more, get a daybed or couch or something.Originally posted by Brian813 View PostThanks kp. We are definitely going start getting the tables for the clubs now. What about the pool parties? Do we have to have tickets or will we be able to get in by just showing up?Isaac Kaz Curry

You do NOT want to chance it at EBC, MDC, or Wet on a busy weekend. I tried to do GA at EBC on a Sat of MDW couple weeks back and ended up wasting 90 mins of the day to realize I have little chance of making it in before 3. I had showed up at 1130 and noticed the line was pretty short. Moved 10 feet within that 90 mins.
The next day I had pre sales for MDC w/ Kaskade. Again, at first it looked like there was little to no line. However after taking a shit load of stairs to get to the entrance I noticed two lines. 1 for GA which looked miserable and probably hadn't moved in awhile and the other for pre sales. Breezed right by the GA line and in in a couple mins....

FYI- EDC is "the busiest weekend for hotel-room occupancy of the year"
http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/blogs/...-2014-not-gua/
Its just an insane weekend to be in vegas. EDC attracts over 115,000 party people to vegas.
The pools and nightclubs by comparison hold in the low single digit thousands. biggest is probably 5k
Presale tickets is always better then General Admission-walk up any weekend esp. EDC weekend.
Couple things that might help you
1. look at ALL lineups see what you stands out for group.
Keep in mind generally at a pool while doors might open at 11am the headliner usually comes on around 3pm.
So if you did get to a pool without tickets at say 1030am and even if you got in quick- your going to be waiting in the hot vegas sun probably 4+ hours waiting on the headliner- a warmup dj will be playing and the pool will be open people will be there but if your going to see a certain dj keep that in mind.
With a nightclub same thing doors may open at 10pm or 11pm but the headliner is usually on around 1am.
2. there is a colton invasion going on that weekend-(run by the provider of these forums) usually a cheap way to hit a bunch of selected clubs.
3. edc itself right now is about a $400 ticket per person. That is for admission to all three nights and you can google the lineup.
You can even do bottle service at EDC last I checked the min was $2000 per night for a main stage table which includes entry tickets.
4. not sure what day you are getting in but if you have never been before I think its always good to try a place out on presale tickets and do heavy research. Tables are a unique experience but can add up very quickly $1000s- also there is a certain skill to mastering the minimums/locations/hosts. Since the clubs are so big you could end up being outside the main room or no direct line of sight to dj/dance floor.
Bottom line its a great weekend to be in vegas- just do your research so you know what to expect.

Thanks for all the help. We decided not to get a ticket for EDC, but instead go to all of the clubs and pool parties with the same DJs. We are going to get a table at Tao on Thursday night, we were going to go to Steve Aoki at Wet Republic on Friday but the tickets are already sold out so I'm going to try to find something else for Friday, Friday night we are getting a table at Marquee, and Saturday we are going to get tickets for Avicii at Marquee. Any suggestions for a good DJ and club we can get a table at for Saturday night? It seems like getting tables in advance is the way to go for the clubs and buying pre-sale tickets for the pools.

Most people will be at the pool parties during the day and EDC at night. Hence get table service at the pool and pre sale it at night if you're looking at the most economical way of doing it that weekend.
Example, Steve Angello @ EBC ($110) vs. Steve Angello @ XS ($40) on Saturday.

For people with no presales, what would you consider a reasonable/decent tip for quick entry per person for dayclubs/nightclubs during EDC weekend?Originally posted by kazflair View PostAt the places you've chosen, GA will be a terrible way to spend a few hours in your day. Also, would tipping a good amount to a host for quick entry mean no cover for guys? Or would guys pay cover regardless?Last edited by KNG; 06-05-2013, 06:55 PM.

He actually had it right the first time and I think you've got it in reverse - the MOST ECONOMICAL way would be to get tables at night (when most people are at EDC and prices are down) than at pools (where there is greater demand)Originally posted by ENC012E View PostYou got it backwards.Originally posted by Brian813 View PostThanks for all the help. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Dayclub mins will be through the roof as EDC goers will want to party somewhere during the day. Nightclubs won't be as in high demand but busy enough to have a good party and lower minimums considering half of the people staying on the strip will be at the speedway from 6pm-8am2013 Calendar: March 20-21 (Treasure Island). SEriously though... for WET I could contact a host (thomas gorman) and ask for hosted walk-in (prob would be $300 handshake) or a pair of chairs with a 500-600 min or something (750-850 all in)... if you're really wanting to go that's likely the best way to get in.Wedding @ Riviera '06 • March Madness @ Mandalay Bay May 2010 • Bachelor Party @ Palms Jul 2013 • GF's Birthday @ Cosmopolitan Oct 2013
