Need help- Noob going to pool parties on EDC weekend

Thanks kp. We are definitely going start getting the tables for the clubs now. What about the pool parties? Do we have to have tickets or will we be able to get in by just showing up?

At the places you've chosen, GA will be a terrible way to spend a few hours in your day. Even if you get there early, they will hold that line until the reservation guests and presales get in, you can get with a host and plan on tipping very well to expedite your entry. If in the budget 1500+ atleast for anything, prob more, get a daybed or couch or something.

For people with no presales, what would you consider a reasonable/decent tip for quick entry per person for dayclubs/nightclubs during EDC weekend?

Also, would tipping a good amount to a host for quick entry mean no cover for guys? Or would guys pay cover regardless?

I think $100-150 per person would be a good handshake for a sold out event like you're talking about. Yes.. tipping a host is in leu of a cover charge... so you're basically skipping cover and generally tipping the host cover + $premium (varies) to skip all lines and walk right in. The host is the only one who can tell you exactly what that amount is but for NORMAL days I believe it's cover plus 20-40 bucks. For a sold out event... expect it to be higher.

I've booked pool parties for friday, saturday and sunday. Ditch, Wet Republic and Marquee. All were 2k minimums, might swap out Ditch for the night Light dayclub!

Thanks for all the help. We decided not to get a ticket for EDC, but instead go to all of the clubs and pool parties with the same DJs. We are going to get a table at Tao on Thursday night, we were going to go to Steve Aoki at Wet Republic on Friday but the tickets are already sold out so I'm going to try to find something else for Friday, Friday night we are getting a table at Marquee, and Saturday we are going to get tickets for Avicii at Marquee. Any suggestions for a good DJ and club we can get a table at for Saturday night? It seems like getting tables in advance is the way to go for the clubs and buying pre-sale tickets for the pools.

You got it backwards.

Most people will be at the pool parties during the day and EDC at night. Hence get table service at the pool and pre sale it at night if you're looking at the most economical way of doing it that weekend.

Example, Steve Angello @ EBC ($110) vs. Steve Angello @ XS ($40) on Saturday.

He actually had it right the first time and I think you've got it in reverse - the MOST ECONOMICAL way would be to get tables at night (when most people are at EDC and prices are down) than at pools (where there is greater demand)

Dayclub mins will be through the roof as EDC goers will want to party somewhere during the day. Nightclubs won't be as in high demand but busy enough to have a good party and lower minimums considering half of the people staying on the strip will be at the speedway from 6pm-8am
