Background:
In spring talks began of another Vegas trip. Most of us were in instantly and I started researching and pumping myself up. This time planning had a different feeling though and it became increasingly more difficult & stressful to nail down dates & get everyone on board. It was becoming more trouble than it should and round 3 was abandoned. With my Vegas hype at an all time high, I couldn't allow myself to not go, so I asked my girlfriend and away we went. This trip I was doing GA for the first time and checking out some new clubs, so I was excited but weary.
Thursday Day:
Today was the calm before the storm and set aside for all the touristy things. We walked around the strip, ate at buffets & saw Zarkana. I really enjoyed this change of pace since when I go with my group of guys we're all degenerates and the only insides of hotels we see are on the way to clubs and when we're drunk trying to find our way out to the next one.
Thursday Night:
After Zarkana we had a table set up at Drais with my friend who was in town with a bachelor party. Earlier in the day I got the sense that their situation was becoming more fluid and it was difficult getting all of them on the same page. Unfortunately, people start to back out & not want to pony up. It's frustrating because something like this never happens and never will with my group when we go, but it's understandable and they have their own seperate trip.
They make plans for Tiesto @ Hak, but I'm already set on checking out Drai's and seeing Chris. We got there around midnight and walked right in. Gave Chris a text and unfortunately just missed him, I tried linking up later on in the trip but a combination of leaving my phone in the room for pool parties and being wasted made communication & finding him difficult.
I really enjoyed Drai’s, the size and layout was perfect & easily accessible. It was nice, but not over-the-top like Omnia. I genuinely felt I was there to party and have a good time instead of being awestruck and take pictures of a chandelier and acrobats. There were plenty of women throughout the club and dancefloor, it seems like a great Thursday/Sunday spot & all I could think about was coming back here with a table.
We stayed pretty late but kept in mind we had to be up early and danced through several cryo blasts and confetti showers til it was time to leave.

Friday Day:
A few weeks before the trip I went to Mad Decent Block Party in Philly and loved it- it was total insanity. Shortly after that they cancelled their Nashville dates and moved them to Vegas (EBC), conveniently while I would be in town. Fiending for some more Major Lazer and to be surrouneded by dozens of girls twerking again, it was a no-brainer.
Despite only getting a few hours of sleep from the night before, I was charged up and getting out of bed was no issue at all. The hardest part of GA I was finding is the pre-gaming, especially for pool parties. Instead of waking up, getting food and maybe cracking open a beer to stave off the hangover til you get to your daybed and slowly start drinking around noon, I was ripping shots at 9:30am.
Ouch- but have to keep on keeping on.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), my memory is a little fuzzier than I’d like to admit, but it was a blast. Typical splashing, dancing and other shenanigans. The bachelor party came along as well and made for a great time- more people in your group is always better in Vegas. Patrick, who some of you guys I'm sure know of, was there and made some desert showers. My last trip in Vegas he did the same at Daylight and gave me my fb cover photo for the next 2 years, it’s now changed to this one
