How was the hot tub in your room?
So I took my wife to Vegas....

Pretty nice actually, bigger than you would normally expect. Honestly I probably spent a total of 12 hours in the room in the 3 nights we were there, and most of that was sleep. The upgraded room was a nice perk, but like most of you, I just wasn't in the room that much.Originally posted by matt1983 View PostHow was the hot tub in your room?

Day 4--
Like I said, day 4 is pretty tame, our flight wasn't scheduled until 7pm, so we had some time to kill. We had asked for a late checkout, normal checkout was 10:00am, they gave us until noon which was perfect since we had not packed a thing. We got moving around 10am, got cleaned up and packed and were out by around 11:30am. Both of us had to be back at work on Tuesday, so my initial plan was for this to be a bit of a detox type of day...never works out that way.
We decided to go grab lunch at the Wicked Spoon over at Cosmo. If you have not been, it's a bit pricey, but worth worth every penny in my opinion. Also, for an additional $12 you can add unlimited bloody Marie's and mimosas...so much for detox! The line to get in was actually pretty long, we waited nearly 45 minutes to get through the line and seated (entry here was way tougher than any of the clubs we went to!), but we had been here before and knew it was worth it. We had a great meal and several drinks before punching out around 1:30pm.
We figured we had about 3.5 hours til we needed to be headed back to pickup our bags and get moving toward the airport. With my wife back in her boot and no extremely appealing Monday daylife options, we decided to sit and play some slots. We had played the Willy Wonka slots a few times on our last couple trips, I am sure the odds aren't great on these, but good lord are they fun after a few drinks! We played for around 2 hours, I think we both lost about $50, but the drink service was good, so I took that to be a wash. We decided to head back over to Planet Hollywood, walked past a bar in the casino (I don't remember the name, but was mostly Mexican food) with a happy hour sign and decided to close out the trip with more drinks and cheap appetizers.
That pretty much tells the rest of the story, not much eventful about the trip home. We obviously we worn out and the day drinking helped us both rest effectively on the plane. I did however wanna wrap up with a few takeaways from the trip.
1. My wife went "Beast Mode" on this trip. She took her game to a whole new level, even played through an injury! I know we will be back next summer, it's now just a matter of whether or not we can wait that long!
2. Take care of your host, regardless of who it is. We used Bobby but there are a lotta great options, including the guys the work as Jack Colton hosts. The value they bring is not obvious until you try navigating Vegas without them.
3. Don't be an idiot like me, most of us have our itineraries laid out long before we leave for the trip. Buy your pre-sales as soon as you know where you are going.
4. Age is nothing but a number. Most of the people we saw at the clubs were younger than us, some were older, everyone seemed to have a good time.
5. Put daytime pool parties and Nightswim on you "must do" list. Really unique experiences that I think you will have a tough time finding outside of Vegas.
6. Don't blame me if you try the "wife trip" and it doesn't work out the same for you. I got pretty lucky and "married up" in multiple ways!
That pretty much caps it. I am sure I will continue to be a regular contributor and also expect to be nailing down dates for the next trip in the next month or two. Writing these things is pretty fun, it brings back all the good memories from a wild weekend, so hopefully I can do a follow up report in the future. Thanks again for the positive comments, I have enjoyed reading those as well! Good lord I am ready to go back!

Great report. Thanks for pumping me up for my next trip with my wife. I am just a few years older than you and will try to live up to your level next trip... in September! I love hitting Vegas, leaving the kids at home, turning the work email off, and letting loose for a few days. Fun times!

Ponch, awesome trip report I can relate to it a lot as seems like we have similar situations. You mind me asking a question:
1) When/how did you arrange for the sedan to pick you up after XS, did you do this prior to the trip? Prior to going out or did you text someone from the club? How was the pricing on that?
2) What kind of shake was required at drai's after hours to avoid the line?
Again thanks for putting the time into this report it was really cool!

1. Didn't pre-arrange any car, just walked out front of Encore and asked one of the staff where to grab a sedan instead of a cab. They knew immediately what I was asking for and pointed me toward where a few were lined up. Cost was $50, we tipped an extra $10. Totally worth skipping that cab line.
2. We tipped $30 per couple at the door, again, totally worth it. I have no patience for lines in Vegas, regardless of my wife's physical condition!

Thanks Tiffany, it is time consuming, and I never thought I would take the time to write one. However, once you get going, its like re-living all the amazing experiences and becomes a lot of fun. I recommend trying it to all those that haven't, you'll probably be surprised at how much you enjoy doing it. Next trip is May 20, I am sure I will be sharing again!Originally posted by tiffany24k View PostNice trip report. It seems so time consuming to write one so thanks for sharing your memories!!
