So I’m headed back to Las Vegas in 7 days, and I feel like its going to be the slowest week ever. So I figured I would write a TR to pass the time, I just wrote one about my trip in August 2014 and now this one is from September 2014 (It was a shitshow, so forgive me if it’s not super detail and picture heavy; I may not remember everything, and someone broke my phone during the trip so I couldn’t really use it well)

Cast of Characters

Myself – 27 year old, single guy from the SF Bay Area
R- 27 year old, single guy from SF Bay Area – One of my Best Friend’s, grew up with him, was my roommate in college, etc etc. – Been to Vegas with me a bunch of times
Pan – 27 year old, engaged guy from the S Bay Area, this trip was his bachelor party
RF- 27 year old, single guy from the SF Bay Area – Groom’s Best Man
AJ- 25 year old, single guy from the SF Bay Area – Groom’s brother in law, very good friend of mine and it was also his 25th birthday this weekend.
Smith- 25 year old single guy, from SF Bay Area – Good Friend of mine
IK, ZI, SW, SS, JM, AS, HG, HB - All Assorted friends of our who were on this trip.

So our lucky Bachelor Pan was such a great guy that he was thrown two bachelor parties. One by his friends from college where they had a 2 week excursion through Europe (Amsterdam, Ibiza, Prague, Croatia) his second one was being hosted by his brother in law and his group of friends. Originally we were all set to spend 4 days in Cabo San Lucas, sitting on the beach and partying down there. But 3 days before we were to take off Hurricane Odile hit Cabo and devastated the town. So we had a dilemma on how to reschedule the trip since people had already taken vacation from work and all that. Super last minute me and AJ re booked everything from Cabo to Las Vegas (thank god for trip insurance). Very sad for the news in Cabo but the show must go on, and who is going to say no to a trip back to the best city in the world.

Day 1 – Thursday

In all the hecticness of having to move the trip around and all that, I didn’t get much time before the trip to actually get anxious for this Vegas trip to roll around, all of a sudden it was Thursday 9/18/14 and it was time to leave. AJ booked the flight so I had to fly out of San Jose (hate this airport), anyways swoop R from his parents place and head to the airport. Get there and meet AJ, Smith, and IK. Grab a drink from the bar and board the plane. Flight there was totally uneventful, land in LV and head to baggage claim where we meet up with Pan and RF, hop in a limo and head to CVS to stock up on supplies for the rooms. Head over to the Palazzo where we have 3 rooms in a row booked, check into our rooms and figure out the rooming situation: myself, R, RF, and Pan grab a room to share. Works out really well because even before we can put our bags down, shots are already poured and the night is about to start right!

At this point we really didn’t have a plan for what to do this night since we were so last minute with everything, anyways AJ’s friend has a table in the Pavillion at Hakkasan so we decide to go check that out since Tiesto is DJing. The guy with the table just tells us to have everyone slip his host $20 and he will walk them in. So we pregame pretty hard, while we are pregaming I bring up a dilemma to the group, myself and the Bachelor have the same exact name, and the last thing we want is some girl in Vegas getting the wrong idea and thinking the skeezy bachelor is trying to hit on her, so its decided I need a new name for the weekend. We toss around a few ideas and finally Smith comes up with Forrest. Hell if I know how he came up with that, but mad props to him, it was a great conversation starter, Some girls I met form this trip still know me as Forrest, and everytime 0-100 by Drake came on, everyone around would look at me and sing out the “Go Forrest, Run forrest, Run Forrest, Go Forrest” line. It was pretty baller I must say.

Around 12:30AM we head over to MGM. I actually hit up Thomas Gorman just to say wssup, and confirm our booking for Saturday night at HK. He tells me and R to wait for a min while everyone else goes inside with the other host. Bullshit with Thomas for a sec and then he walks us in, im just following him talking to R and all of a sudden we are in the back rooms/kitchen of HK. R just looks at me and is like whats going on, I give him a shrug that says “ I have no effing clue bro”; just keep following Thomas and all of a sudden we are on stage with Tiesto 5 feet away from us spinning his set. Minds blown, the bouncer for the area had no more wristbands, but Thomas pointed us out to him and he said we were cool all night. It was kinda sick to see the show from the other point of view and see the crowd going wild!

After a while we decided to head over to the pavilion to check out what the rest of the crew was doing, seemed to be having a good time, took a couple shots but the pavilion had significantly less energy than the main room maybe because it was a Thursday? We hang out there for a bit until AJ and Pan want to see the area our table for Saturday night is so I walk them over to the tables Thomas had pointed out to me (Tier 3), at that point I took Pan up on stage with me, and he was feeling it, just getting rowdy on stage having a great old time. Mad respect to him and RF too, for being able to get through two bachelor parties of this magnitude and still be alive. Anyways R comes up on stage and me and him slip the bouncer $20 to pull a couple girls from the crowd onto the stage, chatting it up with these girls from Chicago when Thomas walks by and he jokingly tells the girls “Don’t trust a word Rpun says, he is nothing but trouble” mind you he does this with a huge Shit Eating Grin on his face. It works in my favor though get these girls numbers although I don’t think I actually got to connect with them over the rest of the trip. Oh well it Vegas soooooo many fish in the sea. Round 3:30AM Tiesto is done so we bounce back to Palazzo where me and R hit the tables for a bit and play some BJ, cant remember if I won or lost, headed up to the room, and tried to get some sleep since I knew I wouldn't get much the next couple days but who cares the real part of the trip was just beginning, and I WAS FUCKING STOKED.

Haha Persia is actually one of my best friends, shenanigans or not I'd go to Vegas with him any damn time. This TR though was with a different circle of friends. But im sure future TR's with persia will have plenty of new stories!

Day 2 – Friday Day

Woke up Friday morning in a new buggati. Sorry that was just too easy. No actually I woke up @ like 8AM this morning in Vegas the best I have ever felt waking up in Vegas. Must have been the easy/early night the night before, well easy/early for Vegas standards anyways. My entire room was asleep so I bounced next door and met up with ZI, and Smith we cracked a beer and were just chilling, till IK yelled at us from the bed to “Shut the fuck up”, I guess someone was struggling a bit. The three of head down to the coffee bean and grab a cup of joe and recap the night before (One of my favorite traditions in Vegas is the next day play by play recap, it’s like reliving that awesome night all over again.)

By the time we get back to the rooms most every is awake so plan formulation is beginning. AJ wants to go buy some sunglasses, a few people are still flying in today so AJ and IK volunteered to wait till they showed up and let them in the room. The rest of us (myself, Pan, R, RF, Smith, ZI, SS, SW) felt we should hit a pool party, but keep it more on the low key till the whole group showed up, so I hit up Chris Traer at Drais and arranged a booth right next to the pool for a $500 min. Worked out perfectly for us, so we as a group get ready and head over to Drais, this was to be my first time at the new Beach Club/Nightclub so I was excited to check out the spot, Chris walks us in right away and gives us a pick of any daybed or table in the house, we pick up a booth right on the edge of the pool, it was still kind of early at this point, but Slander was slated to play so we knew it would get decently packed.

Chris got us seated and we ordered some bites to munch on plus a few pitchers and some much needed bloody marys. We get settled and Chris offers to give me a tour of the day club, the cabanas looked nice and the layout was well done, would really like to come back here on a Saturday/Sunday when its fully going to see how it is. But at the end fo the tour he grabs the bachelor and myself and takes us to the bar and buys all 3 of us Patron Mind Erasers. My god Chris I have no idea what was in that drink but he made us finish it in one long gulp and my mind was fucked right then and there. Got back to the table and tragedy had struck!!!! I had left my phone and wallet in someone’s sneaker under our table and someone was looking for their phone had dropped mine face down on the floor, screen completely cracked =/ sigh. Phone worked but barely, it was spazzing out hard, but if I massaged it and prodded it just the right way I could get a text or two off, enough to make sure all the clubs/pools were taken care of for the rest of the weekend.

As the day went on at Drais we ended up making friends with some girls from Colorado, who were super friendly and entertaining. A couple of them went to Boulder, CO so myself and R (who are University of California: Santa Cruz alumni, go Banana Slugs!!!) got into an argument with the girls about who had a more epic 4/20 celebration: UCSC or Boulder. I don’t think we ever decided on a winner but a pretty memorable conversation to have on a Vegas rooftop at this point. We invited the girls to come over to Xs that night before they left and they agreed that they would meet up with us. AJ, IK, and JM finally show up at Drais after AJ had copped a pair of LV sunglasses (early bday present to himself I guess) and we all hung out till about 4:30 at the pool. At this point we decided to head back to the palazzo gamble a bit and get ready for dinner at 8:30 at Botero. Couldn't tell you if I won or lost gambling, so I guess it wasn't much either way, but I played for about an hour and then headed back up to the room for a quick recharge, for what was promised to be an epic night.

Day 2 – Friday Night

By about 7:30 all the members of our party have arrived, and that super giddy, its about the be an awesome night, we bout to rage feeling, is building to a crescendo. We take a couple shots and head out to Encore for dinner at Botero, I had recommended we hit a more energetic, less stuffy place for dinner that night like STK or Stack, but I was vetoed as people wanted to be close to Xs where we had a table reserved that night. Dinner was ok at Botero, to be honest I’ve had a lot better for the price we ended up paying, probably wouldn’t go back; but on the other hand they made an amazing Dirty Martini. R, myself, RF, and Pan probably sucked down 4 dirty martinis each during dinner, so safe to say we were feeling pretty damn good when we moseyed over to XS at about 11PM.

I had set up a 4k min + $500 shake table through Bobby Yeadon, he had stated he were going to have a large tier 3 booth, Skrillex was playing that night so we knew it was going to be slammed. Pan was super stoked for the night b/c Skrillex is his absolutely most favorite DJ. He was like bouncing as we walked up to Bobby, but that could have been all the martinis too. Anyways as soon as I meet up with Bobby, he has this big grin on his face (Theme of the weekend: Hosts with Shit eating grins, wssup with that?). He tells me he has a surprise for us, I get immediately suspicious. He tells me that he had a last minute cancellation so he got us upgraded, I asked him where we were going to be at, he just smiled and said follow me. We walk through the club with him and all of a sudden we are at at a dance floor table, for the same 4k minimum!! The very left one closest to the DJ booth, insane location, mad props to Bobby Yeadon, he hooked it up so fat, I made sure that he would come back and grab a drink with us.

I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Skrillex’s music but holy shit he fucking killed it at Xs this night. We raged Hard as hell the goose was flowing, I got the waitress to bring out a cake for AJ at midnight to celebrate his birthday and we all sang him happy birthday while Skrillex dropped bangarang in the background. A couple of the guys got together to cop AJ a bottle of Ace of Spades since he loves that stuff! We even lost Pan for a good 90 minutes, no idea where he was, and his phone was dead, he ended up on the dance floor right in front of the DJ booth just raging away, but we were pretty worried for a minute, might not be a good look to lose the groom-to-be on his bachelor party. The girls from Drais came through and me and one of them were getting along pretty well, but all of a sudden she bounced without any reason, the only thing I saw was here grab her crying friend and leave. I was perplexed but eventually we figured out that someone in our group tried to make a move on her friend and she rejected him and he got belligerent and kicked her out. Sadly he did this same act to at least 2 more groups of girls, ruining R’s game and Smith’s game. Sigh, I never understand guys like that, but who am I to say anything?

ENJOYING THE HELL OUT OF MYSELF AT DURING SKRILLEX

Around 3 AM Skrillex is just about to finish and I get a text form Bobby saying that there is another surprise in store for us that night. All of a sudden Jermaine Dupri jumps on the mike and starts spitting and then introduces us to his partners in crime for the night: Chris Brown and Usher. The crowd goes fucking nuts, girls are just rushing the dance floor to get there, we had the best view in the house at our table, and im just pulling any hot girl I can find up to our table to hang out. CBreezy drops a few songs but when he drops Loyal with Usher doing the backup lyrics its off the fucking chain, Usher drops some of his tracks mostly old school stuff like confessions and Yeah but he has every girl in the place with their panties dropping! Our table is going wild, actually one of the girls who I pulled up on the table ended up being a really cute girl I went to High School with. In High School she wouldn’t give me the time of day, but she was kinda all over to me at this moment! We danced for a bit and she wanted to meet up later, I had to give her my number since my phone was broken, but we never connected (probably a good thing since she got engaged a couple months after this trip) I guess these ho’s aint loyal!

Breezy and Usher finished up close to 4AM and most of the crew bounced to call it a night or get food, I was turnt though, and was adamant about not going back to my room alone that night so I hung out and killed the last of the bottles and made friends with a group of girls from LA. We went back to their room in the Venetian and well let’s just say I accomplished my goal for the night, but it was nothing to write home about in the end. Oh well!?!?! VEGAS!!! So as I strut of pride it from the Venetian to Palazzo I run into AS, IK, an ZI going upstairs as well, fill them in on the rest of the night and walk back into my room watching the sun rise. Took a sunrise shot and passed the fuck out with a smile on my face, goddamn I love this motherfucking City!!!
