Great thread. I was there, at the Palms Place, that weekend a year ago... but my trip was a lot less exciting! Lol!

It was definitely one of the better runs i have had in Vegas, i didn't play with Wood that day, but i have in a few open gyms on UNLV's campus. He's a talent, needs to gain strength (kind of slight) but no doubt a first rounder... oh and to answer your PM, yes i did go to that school in VA, but was a knuckle head when i was younger (i was there when i was 13) so was asked to leave!

    Wow!

Spent the last 3 hours going through all the posts!

If my first trip to Vegas in July is 10% as good as this then it will be epic to say the least!

    Good work!

I have never laughed so much reading a TR. Kudos to you sir for fully embracing what Vegas offered on that trip. Most people would have tapped out before the end.

This trip literally changed my life in a ton of unexpected ways. I met some people that i still keep in touch with to this very day. Myself and Dani are still quite friendly and see each other fairly regularly and speak often. While not in the same city D.C is not far from Brooklyn at all obviously. As mentioned, even a year later myself and Miss Iowa still see each other whenever i am on the west coast and she is on the east coast. Neither are relationships but i guess they are... something.

Perhaps more importantly, i have since changed jobs almost directly as a result of this trip and am now working for a sports agency/music management company here on the east coast (albeit mostly on the financial side but this year will be fully accredited and will hustle for clients). All of this came about after one night at 1Oak and a workout at UNLV where i was able to use some connections i had to steer some potential NBA draft picks toward some agents i know.

Due to the fact that Vegas actually has quite a few training centers for athletes in its immediate vicinity, in the year following the beginning of this TR i have spent an inordinate amount of time in Vegas (typically at minimum a week every month since the end of college football season and start of the NFL Draft, the start of the NCAA tournament, and will spend most of June and July there with the upcoming NBA Draft and Vegas summer league). Therefore for all intent and purposes i have found myself in the peculiar position of finding myself experiencing Vegas as a semi local and THAT has been VERY interesting.

Of course being in Vegas so frequently i now needed a regular apartment...so i bought a one bedroom at Palms Place (with the help of my new boss anyway, compared to NYC prices literally the mortgage is a joke i have payed that much in rent for my first apartment out of college). I will say this, all of us on the forums seem to have a pretty healthy appreciation for the wonders of Vegas. I think what makes it special is that its a place you go spread out over the course of a year or years what have you to escape and party your face off. I always asked locals it must be CRAZY to live here full time, and never understood when they would say nah it gets boring real quick. While i don't live there year round i DEFINITELY get what they are saying now!

In any event thanks for sticking with me throughout this long ass report. Hope whoever read it enjoyed it and got a feel for both the good and bad of Vegas (and also remember for the most part the majority of this trip was SOLO so don't ever be worried about having a good time by yourself). Even though clearly i have been back quite a few times since this report started none of my trips have approached this one in terms of sheer SHIT HAPPENED moments. I have high hopes for my first summer in Vegas (though terrified of JULY heat).

    NEXT UP MDW 2015!!!!
    Great summary...good job networking.
