Group of guys headed to Vegas to celebrate a funer…I mean bachelor party, during the weekend before the wedding. Was originally supposed to be 8 guys (6 so-called vets, 1 virgin, and me; the ring leader/best man and REAL vet), but one guy cancelled a week before due to school obligations, tests, blah blah. Another guy cancelled (the virgin) the NIGHT BEFORE take-off, literally 7 HOURS before take off because he “caught a nasty cold”. I wouldn’t give a fuck if I had a broken leg, H1N1, and chicken pox at the same time; my ass would have been on that plane in morning…but I digress. On to the report...
Thursday, April 11 –
Fly-in @ ~3p and check-in at The Cosmopolitan. Originally had four 2 Queen City Rooms booked, but wanted to try and upgrade to 2 Bedroom City Suite by “combining” 2 of the 4 rooms. Check-in lines were moderately long, so I was able to scout out which front desk agent I felt would be super sandwich friendly. Made my choice and got in line. Another rep came from the special Identity Platinum check-in room to help me get checked-in. I thought, “Fuck, all that scouting for nothing.” Approach the desk and come right out with it, “I was wondering do you all have any of the rooms ending in ‘53’ (This is the series number of the 2 BR suite) on one of higher floors available? We’ve stayed there before and wanted to replicate it this trip.” After a $50 sandwich and about 30-40mins at the desk and several calls to I assume managers, “Tina” hooked it up for us!
Rest of crew gets in within the hour and we head across the street to Walgreens and get the essentials (booze, beer, cups, water, mixers, snacks, mixers. Note to self for next time; buy a bag(s) of ice). Grab some “Secret Pizza” (this place is SO clutch simply because of the convenient location and price point. The pizza is actually good, which is saying a lot because being from NY, I know good pizza when I see/taste/smell it) and chill and enjoy the calm before the storm.
Pre-game then head to Haze for Industry Night. Previously made arrangements for a table with Isaac Curry. When we arrived he was easy to find and we were inside in a relatively fast manner. Location was as discussed. Place was packed! Not even 3 minutes in the place, one guy from my crew had already found his “girl for the night”. I personally don’t buy the first house I see, but a win is a win…At one point that night Isaac came back to check up on things and then proceeded to walk me around the WHOLE club, table-by-table, and introduced to me to a BUNCH of other industry folks (I’ve had great service before but that was a good move; definitely props to Isaac!). All cool people. More drinks had, dances with 40/50 year old moms, met a cool group from Sydney, and later in the night Flo-Rida preformed a song or two, etc. At some point we leave and head back to Cosmo. [Redacted activities – something along the lines of “That bitch is a hooker. She stole my money.” (Though no hookers were ever sexed nor was any money stolen…)].

Rise and shine at about 9am. No hangover FTW. Thank you Pedialyte. In an effort to ensure maximum potential, we get the drinks flowing early. One of the guys sees that there are robes in our room and states, “Yo, I’ve never worn a robe before. I want to be like Hugh Heff! Take my picture!” (famous last words) He’s an idiot, or maybe a combination of drunky and idiot.
The plan was to go to Marquee Day Club that day, but most of guys were super bitchy about recovery and were dragging ass all morning, early afternoon; so we missed out. Pussies…I head down to try my hand at the craps table (usually never play at Cosmo); depressing results. In an effort to make back some the lost dough, I head to the best casino on the strip; Casino Royale. I’ve NEVER left CR without making good money. After leaving with all my riches, I make a purchase from everybody’s favorite street “vendors” that I have been DYING to make –

Don’t be jelly bros. Feeling good after winning some coin and acquiring some fancy new threads, I decide to try my luck back at Cosmo again. DUMB. DUMB. DUMB. I hate everything. Whatever…Time for dinner. We had a reservation at STK. Food was pretty good. DJ played some JAMS I haven’t heard in a while. Good overall experience, especially for a group celebratory dinner.
Pre-game then we head to Marquee for Benny Benassi. Did the hotel guest line. It was short and moved fast (TWSS). However at the cashier, they are SERIOUS about the hotel guest and name on key thing. I made sure everybody’s name was on their key, even though all of the rooms were booked until my name. Girl at the register tried to make it an issue. Told her “It’s not that serious…y’all make a like $1mil a night, cut it out…” (may or may not have been drunk at that point) Was my first time there. Production wise it’s nice, but overall I’m not big fan of Marquee. Hate the layout and the small dance floor. It is what is though; would still definitely go back at some point.
Not wanting to end the party, we head to Body English at like 4:30ish. Was only about half full and was a SAUSAGE fest. Needless to say, we left not too long after arriving. Still wanting to recover my losses from earlier in the day, I take my craps talents to Plant Hollywood. Players on the table were cool, but the chips kept hemorrhaging. Call it a night and head back to Cosmo at about 6-7am.
