Flew out on the early flight Wednesday morning. We had booked a towncar
through Presidential and were picked up in an Escalade which was nice.
The last three or four times we've used Presidential we always end up
getting a vehicle that is a category higher than what we paid for.
Recommend Presidential to everyone I talk to going to Vegas.
Stopped by the liquor store to load up on supplies for the dinner/party
I was hosting Wednesday night in the Hospitality Suite at Aria. The
driver took us to a liquor store he recommended. It was more expensive
than the Walgreens we usualy go to. Pretty sure he got a kick-back for
taking people there. (Lesson: Ask your driver to take you to a
Walgreens).
These suites are perfect for hosting a party. Full bar with
seating, extra fridge, and a conference room with a huge TV, surround
sound, and a table that seats 12 easily. They are also at the very end
of the hallways so you don't need to worry about disturbing your
neighbors since the only shared wall is in the bedroom.

Had food catered, some drinks with the others attending the meetings and
called it a night after a little gambling.
After the meeting on Thursday my wife and I went out with another couple
that was there for our meetings. I had originally booked bottle service
at 1OAK for this night but found out they wanted to do something more
laid back so rebooked 1OAK for Friday night with MRV and one of his
friends...more on that later.
We meet up at Chandelier Bar for a cocktail before our 8pm dinner
reservation at Comme Ca. (FYI...if you like bourbon, get an Old Fashion
from the Chandelier Bar, one of the best I've ever had) Round of drinks,
dinner, and a bottle of wine at Comme Ca was $320 for four people. The
food was great and we enjoyed the upbeat vibe. After dinner we decide to
head over to MIX for a drink.
MIX was pretty dead when we got there around 10:30pm (I think). But the
DJ was spinning Top40 and we were able to grab a table with the killer
view we went for. After a few too many rounds and a little dancing the
other couple we were with decided they would like to see a club...but it
was already 1:15am. I shoot Joey Orr a text and ask him if he could set
us up to get in over at Haze...1:45am we're inside Haze.
We grab a round of drinks from the bar, which only took like 5 minutes.
The bar there is huge. The place was full (there were like 5 industry
birthday parties that night including "Moose"). The dance floor was full
but you could still work your way in. I really liked the setup at Haze
for not having a table. It was easy to move around and mingle with the
dance floor in the middle of everything. There were even a couple places
walled off from the dance floor where you could carry on a conversation.
My wife commented that she liked Haze better than Tao and I'd have to
agree. We drink and dance for a while and found our way back to the room
around 4-5am I think. Props to my wife for out-drinking me this
night...she paid dearly the next day!
I'm up at 8am for meetings and my wife is wrecked. I make sure she's
still breathing, grab a shower, and head to my meeting. I arrive looking
like a zombie and everyone has a few good laughs at my expense. My wife
is laid up in the room all day trying to hold down food. I get back to
the room around 5pm and I talk her in to going down for a bit of
gambling. She's sworn off drinking for the rest of her life, but we have
reservations at Hyde and 1OAK with MRV and his buddy that night so she
takes one for the team, pulls herself up by her bootstraps and we head
out to Hyde around 8pm.

MRV and his friend meet us out front and the hostess takes us to our
table on the patio by the glass that Anthony setup for us. Definitely
one of the best tables on the patio.

Hyde is badass venue. If you haven't been, you must go, even if it's a
lounge night. We all have a couple rounds of drinks, snack on some
sliders and chips that were pretty killer, and get to know one another.
If you're meeting up with people for the first time I'd recommend
meeting up at a lounge before hand. It was a great way to start the
night and have some conversation. MRV and Shawn felt like old friends by
the time we headed out to 1OAK.
I shoot Joey a text that we're on our way. We arrive, walk up to the
rope off to the side (not the table line) and Joey lets us in straight
away while the other people in line stand by. We head to our table on
the dance floor, order our bottles and just chill for a bit while the
place fills up. The setup of the club was similarish to Haze but maybe
just a bit smaller. (Sidenote, my wife and I both enjoyed the size of
1OAK, Haze, and Hyde to Tao). The music was all hip-hop for about an
hour. DJ Karma was spinning that night and threw down a great set. A
perfect mix of Top40/HipHop/EDM.
Dex stopped by with some friends and Noah joined us later. Both super
nice guys and great to party with. In the blink of an eye (in fact
moments after Joey brought the round of shots) Mrv crosses the
threashold from hangin' out having a good time to fist pumping maniac
and really got the party going. My wife and I say our goodbyes shortly
after 2am. I'm still super happy my wife sucked it up that night 'cause
I know she was hurtin' bad. She was also a little hesitant about the
whole meeting up with people from the internet, but afterwards couldn't
stop talking about how cool and nice everyone was.
Saturday was pretty laid back. Gambled a bit and hung out in the sports
book at Aria to watch the NE vs WI game. The Aria sportsbook was really
great. I got free beer all night during the game. Not sure if this is
the norm, or because I was tipping the server well from the moment we
got there. We had reservations for Circa at Bellagio that night but
canceled to watch the rest of the game. After the game we gambled until
around 1am then went and packed up for our flight the next morning.
All in all a great trip even though work was involved. The service at
Aria was a little disappointing given the amount of money I spent on
rooms, catering, and gambling...will probably try someplace new next
time. I have some videos from Haze and 1OAK I'll try to post. They need some editing though.
