Hey everyone. It's kinda crazy to be doing almost back to back trip reports. However, I had a bunch of family visiting this week (the week before iheartradio weekend). I decided to fly out to Vegas and had some fun during my "off" time not seeing my relatives. I'm only going to report on 9/17 and 9/21. The rest of the days were pure family and hanging out with local friends.
Monday - 9/17
Got settled into Tuscany. This was my first time staying here and I was only here for the night. The room was relatively inexpensive for the size. Unfortunately there was no microwave and wifi in the room (had to use the coffee machine to heat up water for my instant noodles). One of my local friends picked me up for dinner a couple hours after I got settled in. We went to a small noodle house called Monta Ramen (5030 SPRING MOUNTAIN ROAD SUITE 6). If you like Ramen, I highly recommend this place. It's not too far off the strip. Pretty sure we just took Sahara west for a few minutes and we eventually ran into it. I had no idea there were so many asian restaurants and markets in this area. I swear I learn something new ever time I go to Vegas. After dinner, I got dropped off at the Encore. Unfortunately my friend was not able to stay for Steve Aoki. I am not a huge fan of Steve Aoki's music, but many of my friends who have seen him said he puts on a hell of a show. I bought a pre sale ticket for the show (30 bucks). I still don't have a host contact for XS as far as Guestlist/Line Skipping goes. I used to have a friend who always just got us in, but apparently the host we used stopped working there a while back. If anyone knows anyone, please let me know. It turns out my friends were right... Steve Aoki puts on a great show. I don't know what this guy is on (or if he just loves his music way too much), but this guy performs his show extremely well. Great energy through his entire set (I hear ALL of his shows are like this). Steve Aoki was the best Monday Night show I've seen in Vegas so far. I would highly recommend seeing him to anyone, even if you don't like his music. After Aoki finished his set, Warren Peace came back on. I've never actually stayed to watch him after the main act (even though he's opened for just about every XS show I've been to recently). He started playing nothing but hip hop for the closing hours (not sure if he always does this).
Friday 9/21
A friend and I were debating on if we wanted to see Calvin Harris or Benny Benassi this night. Since I have not seen Benny before, I eventually convinced her that Benny was the better choice. I had another local friend who was interested in going, and there were also several people coming in that evening who were joining our group. In the end There was me and a group of 8 girls who were going to go. I contacted Noah Ortiz and he responded very quickly. He was able to get us all on the guest list with no problem. That evening I met up with another local friend of mine at Fashion Show Mall. We ended up just going to the food court and getting cheap Chinese Food. After that, we walked around the strip and killed a mini bottle of Grey Goose and some Red Bulls. I met up with one of the friends I was going to Benny Benassi with around 10PM. However, there was a problem and the rest of the girls were running late. Sent Noah another text, and he said it would not be a problem. Long story short, everyone got into the club with no problem! Marquee was a blast as always. My drinks for the night: 2 AMFs 1 shot of that Orange Patron shots (which are stronger and cheaper than those crappy shots you get at XS from the go go dancers walking around). Seeing Benny Benassi was wonderful. I got to hear everything from "Satisfaction" to "Cinema", as well as many of my other favorite songs from other great artists.
Special thanks to Noah Ortiz as always. It's crazy... I've never actually met the guy in person, but he's always so helpful to me and everyone else on this forum. Definitely one of the most responsive and professional hosts I have contacted in Vegas.
Overall, wonderful trip. Wish I could be back for Columbus Day Weekend. Oh, well.
