I apologize in advance for the length of this report.
I've tried to condense as much as possible but sometimes details are necessary to paint a good picture.
Background: 5 guys
My close guy friends and my brother take a boys trip every year to Vegas. None of us are gamblers - just guys who like to have a good time and meet cool people.
Friday -
I take a 1230pm flight out from San Jose.
While boarding I notice a bunch of Sharks hockey players onboard - there's like 10 of them. I suppose a trip to Vegas is their reward for a quick exit from the playoffs. I try to get some sleep on the plane as I woke up Friday morning feeling a bit under the weather and am hoping I won't get full blown sick on the trip.
Flight arrives on time and I grab a cab - before I know it I'm at the Cosmo. Note: cab from airport to Cosmo should be around $20, that includes tip. Turns out my buddy who arrived earlier in the day paid around $30. haha. It's a little after 3pm and I try checking in to the wraparound suite I booked using the LNF trick I saw on JC. My buddy joins me in line. As I feared, the suite isn't ready - I'd have to wait an hour. When the room is ready, they'll call me. They hand me room keys that aren't activated yet and I see that I'm on the 32nd floor. Ok, so my friend and I walk over to the bell desk and have our bags checked. I notice a bunch guys in dreads in front of us - one of them is really tall - that's Lennox Lewis!! I need to grab some food so my friend and I walk around Cosmo and find the "secret pizza place". I forget which floor it's on, either 2nd or 3rd and you go through a skinny hallway - the pizza was good! Crispy thin crust yum!!! Try the "white" slice if you go. An hour passes and I go up to the front desk inquiring about my room. Still not ready! The excuse they give me was that there was an "event" the night before so it was taking some time to clean up. I wanted to take a short nap too because I felt like I was getting sick. Ok fine, I figure it's a good time to make the Walgreens run to stock up on water, juice, snacks and booze. When done, we check back to the front desk - still no dice. It's been a little over two hours now. Screw it - let's eat, we go to Wicked Spoon. My buddy has been dying to try the bone marrow there. It's literally fat you spread on toasted french bread chips. The first few bites are good - but its too rich for my blood after that. Towards the end of dinner, I get a call from the front desk that the room is ready. Great! 3201 right? They say no, 5401 so I'll need to get new room keys. Nice! A high floor suite, there's 61 floors in our tower and I'm told I won't be charged for the rollaway I requested. I better not since I had to wait 4 hours to get into my room. As I walk up to our door, there's alot of noise going on across the way - women's voices laughing and giggling. Their door is slighty open so I can hear what's going on. I make a mental note. It's a little after 7pm and not 5 minutes after I walk into our magnificent suite I get a call from my friend, whom I'll call Doc (he's a doctor) and he's already arrived and in the lobby. You need room keys for the elevator and to get up to the higher floors. I go down to get him. Fifteen minutes later my bro arrives, then 20 minutes after that the last of my friends arrive. So much for resting and napping.
As for the wraparound suite at Cosmo - really nice!
The view can't be beat. Having the terrace really makes a difference. I forget which tower we were in. There's one tower in front of us and another behind us. We have a great view of the Bellagio fountains. Right below is Marquee and the pools. We can totally hear the music blasting. Some complaints was that there were no utensils or enough glasses for drinking. They pre-stock the fridge. But luckily there's two freezer drawers empty and a shelf open for your stuff. You could control climate, lights and other things through the TV or the touchscreen phone. I've stayed in the two bedroom suite at PH Towers and but this was definitely nicer. I didn't use the dresser drawers in the bedroom because they smelled like pot!! I thought it was just me, but I had all everyone smell it and they all agreed. I think it's the type of wood they used though because all the dressers drawers smelled like that.
Back to the TR...
We start mixing drinks in our suite and hang out on the terrace drinking/smoking and catching up. I go to get ice - on the way back I hear the girls in the room across leaving their room for a night out. There's like 8 of them. Mind you this is a long hallway and I'm already buzzing - so as I get closer to the group of girls - I notice they aren't girls - more like older women, late 40's?. Fail. I don't mind older women but none of them seemed that attractive to me - even with my beer goggles on which tells you something.
Anyway, It's a little after 11pm and we decide it's time to head out. This year we thought we'd do something different and hang out downtown. Specifically hit up Downtown Cocktail Lounge and The Griffin. Cab drops us off at one end of Fremont St - the bars are at the opposite end. We walk thru Fremont St. This is only my second time ever being on Fremont Street. My friends are in the same boat as we never venture into this part of town and we've been going to Vegas for partying the last 15 years?? The crowd is definitely different than the strip. So many street performers, etc. It's so lively. We walk by Rick James and my brother is all "cocaine is a helluva drug...". hahaha...(Chappelle's Show reference). Rick James laughs and points at us. We get to DCL, it's dark and cozy. Not many peeps are there. We grab drinks at the bar then sit down. We proceed to order more rounds and make friends with our waitress who's a cutie.. It was just nice to chill and hang out with the boys catching up. The place doesnt seem to be getting any more lively and supposedly they close at 2am and It's a little after 1am. Should we hit up another place downtown? Drai's? (a bit early I feel) or our good old standby Spearmint Rhino. My brother pulls out the business card of a manager there - he also gets a txt from a gal pal dancer at Rhino telling him to come by. I guess our decision has been made. Off to Rhino!
The limo comes by and whisks us away. We get dropped off the back entrance and I tip our driver for his troubles.
We get seated at a table and another round of drinks come shortly after. I'm starting to feel not so great. My mood changes from excitement and anticipation to one of trying to get through the night. I look around it just seemed like the place wasn't all that packed. I remember previous trips and feeling like there were wall to wall gorgeous women. Tonight, not so much it seems. My brother finds his friend and she's gorgeous as I remember meeting a couple of years back. They head off to do their own thing. Meanwhile girls are sitting on a couple of my friend's laps chatting it up and eventually they go off someplace. Another buddy says he's not feeling it and is starving so he might take off. It's only 230am! Then this tall Asian gal in a red outfit comes strutting by and sits on my lap and starts up a convo. Turns out she's an actress and was in Californication - which is a show I watch! It was an episode where she played a hooker and a hotshot producer was trying to pee on her. hahahaha. Anyway she says she's at Rhino 2-3 times a week but mostly is an actress. She starts telling me about herself in a way like she was advertising - Facebook, Twitter page etc. Kind of turned me off actually - she gives me a couple of dances so at least I see her in action. Jenny Lin for those who want to look her up. Anyway, because I'm still feeling a bit queasy it winds up hindering my enjoyment. I tell her to come back later. This really skinny petite Mexican gal sits in the chair next to me and we start talking. She says she's trying to sober up, etc. I offer her a bottle of Fiji. I look away for a second and I see the bottle is empty. I'm like - wtf? Did you just gulp that shit down!?! She smiles and nods yes. Holy crap she must've been realllly thirsty! We chit chat and again, I'm not feeling it and she bounces. By now everyone in my group are off to private rooms. Another girl catches my eye and sits down. She has that girl next door look about her, long straight dark hair. Looks like Kendall Jenner for those Kardashian fans out there. Come to find out she's going to Tiesto as well and I tell her to come by our table. We exchange numbers, I get a couple of dances and I'm out. Or so I think. This black girl comes by and sits down and she starts talking I could hear an accent. She's from Trinidad and Tobago and currently lives in Chicago. She's super aggressive as she's whispering in my ear hands roaming, etc. Hmm..long story short my curiousity gets the best of me. I end up going to the private rooms in back for a half hour. We have a great time - have a little makeout session (I know some of you are probably thinking gross, dont know where them lips have been. haha). I tell her I've never kissed a black girl before, she replies, well you have now. She comes back with me to our table and sits and we just chat like old friends. She even buys me a few drinks. No hustle, just chilling with me and my friend. We exchange numbers and who knows, perhaps we'll keep in touch. My brother finally returns and it's finally time to go. Trinidad and Tobago is sad to see us go. It's 4am - two of my other friends are still gone. The rest of us decide to leave as I'm sure they're in capable hands.
I've tried to condense as much as possible but sometimes details are necessary to paint a good picture.
