  • Country boys from Kansas got some questions!

Coming to Vegas 23rd through 27th of Sept 2014 from Kansas to be in a wedding.

Basically there to drink, gambling isnt a priority.

Cheapest places for beer and food? We will be on a budget so we dont expect to eat at high end places. First time in Vegas and we are in our mid 20s.

Places to go on tuesday wednesday and thurs nights?

Any tips and suggestions would be great.

    Cheers

In all seriousness the cheapest place to drink is Walgreens. Usually you can find a wide variety of ice cold beer and other malt liquor based canned beverages in large sizes of 16-24oz from around $2-$4. However don't drink in the Walgreens, they don't appreciate that, open it outside, lol. You can walk anywhere on the strip with an open container, including the sidewalk and any hotel or casino. Gambling to drink is usually the wrong call, unless you just enjoy gambling for it's own sake. Bars in Vegas are almost universally overpriced, so if you are going to bother drinking at bars you very well might want to be drinking at a club since the markup is similar and the experience is much more unique to Vegas.

Cheapest place to eat is any of the fast food restaurants that line the strip. Then it would be more of the casual dinning, like themed restaurants, pizza, and buffets.

Now if you want to branch out a bit there are tons of options, so I usually start by asking where you are staying since usually people don't like to trek very far just to grab food or some drinks. Also another starting question is whether or not you can find as many girls as you have guys in your group to tag along, that can go a long way to making drinking cheaper or maybe even free since clubs give out drink tickets and open bars to girls quite often.

Bars with a focus on beer:
      TAG (The Quad / Linq)
      Yard House (The Linq)
      Public House (Venetian)

Clubs with free drinks for girls:
Tuesday: Hyde (1 free drink per girl)
Wednesday: Light (2 free drinks per girl / possible open bar per girl)
Thursday: Tao (very likely open bar per girl)

      Cheap Food:
Palms Buffet ($9 for the lunch buffet with unlimited Miller High Life)
Secret Pizza ($28 for a very large white pizza, really good and open till 4-5am)
Earl of Sandwich (~$6.50 for hot sandwiches, a lot of people's go to Vegas food)

Yard House was solid when I was there. Solid beer selection and I liked their food menu. The Tacos and the Mac & Cheese were both solid.

+1 to Earls and Secret Pizza
