  • Good Restaurant for Romantic Meal

    Hey,

I am coming to Vegas for EDC week with my girlfriend and am looking to go out for a romantic meal one night midweek while we are there (a break from all the partying). I can't decide where to go as there are so many options, just looking for some help please!!

We are prepared to spend anything up to $500 total, and a nice romantic setting is definitely key, preferably with a good view. Not looking for it to be a party atmosphere, but not wanting a quiet restaurant full of older folk (I'm 30, girlfriend is 26) at same time.

As far as type of food goes, my girlfriend will eat anything (loves seafood, I hate it), but we both love Thai food. Would prefer it to be somewhere on the Strip as opposed to off the Strip.

I have been researching some Steakhouses as there are some fish options on the menu, and I can fill my boots with a huge steak! We have a table booked at SW but have since read a lot of reviews on here saying its overpriced for what you get etc.. Would places like Prime or CUT be better? My concern with Prime is that it may be an older crowd, although I'm just guessing!? And likewise my concern with CUT is there is no view, bit of a mall feeling to it!?

Does anyone of any other suggestions that could help me? Any help would be massively appreciated,

    Thanks,

    Craig

We went thru a similar process last year. Booked SW, read poor reviews and changes the res. Went to Andreas instead, which was light, bright, and empty. Not sexy at all. I wish we had stuck w SW and took in the show at Lake of dreams. I've recently been reading about Stk. We may go there on Monday after EDC this year. Free upgrade from a bottle of champagne to a magnum, plus a DJ in the background. Also, the Cosmo has some of the better lounges right now. Good luck on your search. Your lady will love it, I'm sure.

I know you said not off the strip, but take a look at Alize at The Palms. Beautiful view, amazing service and food.

I did the top of the world once at the stratosphere. Food was good. View was good (and I'm afraid of heights). I'm sure the experts will have better options for you. Good luck!

Okay there might not be a view but I love Sage at Aria for a romantic dinner. Totally gorgeous and the food is pretty awesome.

How about the swan room of L' Aureole at Mandalay Bay? Or Tao at the Venetian for more Asian flavors?

SW is awesome. Went w/ my girlfriend who prefers seafood over steak and she said it was one of the best meals she has had. Service is awesome, we are both 28, i would not call the crowd old but it does not really cater to the younger crowd (as most probably can't afford it).

Try to request a patio table and watch the show, you can get after drinks on a terrace (near lobby) overlooking the show as well.

Thanks for all the replies and advise, appreciated! Great help! Think I will probably stick with SW, and have requested a Patio table. Will try turn up a bit early to increase chance of getting a patio table!

I did think about the one at the Eifell Tower, and may well go to TAO on another night for some Asian flavours.

So excited just now, only a few more days until I'm back in Paradise!!

A couple of people suggested Tao which I thought of as well.

My wife and I enjoyed BOA in Caesar forums. Been a few years though. Could try STK at Cosmo. Girls just like stuff at Cosmo.

Actually now that I think about it, my wife always really likes LAVO at Palazzo. We've eaten there half a dozen times and it's never disappointed. You can sit out on the patio there as well if you like. And the best part about it is that the food is really really good but the price isn't like CUT or some of the other places.

                    Good luck!

I second this. I've spent some money on nice places, but if you're looking for the total package do this at night. It's awesome seeing the entire city from 1000 feet as the place revolves around the city. Probably $200 for a couple if you both get a 3 course.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak, and Stone Crab is one of my personal favorite spots in Vegas. Has a very wide selection of choices on the menu, the service is top notch, and the food is amazing. Its located at the Caesars Forum Shops. Menu is on the website http://www.joes.net/location/las-vegas/?loc=vegas

Prime at Bellagio was probably the most romantic place I've been to - we sat out on the terrace overlooking the fountains! Your girl will love it! Steak is amazing, and lobster was great as well. We were the only ones out on the patio so I can't say how the crowd was age-wise but going along with what someone said previously, typically younger people don't hit the expensive restaurants too often so the crowd might be older. There's only a few tables on the patio so if you're watching the fountains and enjoying the romantic setting, no one else is even around right?

I would also recommend swan room @ aureole. Mix restraint can be good too if you get good seating.

So, have taken a while to reply to all this as I couldn't face this website with post Vegas blues! Haha!

We decided in the end to stick with our reservation at SW, and I'm glad that we did! The food was fantastic, and were lucky enough to get a table on the patio! I went for the 16oz New York strip steak, partner went for the Fillet steak, both cooked to perfection. Fantastic setting, was just what I was looking for! The cocktail bar next door, Parasol Down, was perfect place to have few drinks before our meal, would recommend to anyone looking for same thing!

We went to TAO on our last night in Vegas (after a long afternoon drinking cocktails at Rhumbar), and both loved the food there also! Would definitely go back there on next visit. Just thinking of the Wasabi crusted filet steak I had is making my mouth water!

Thanks for all the tips, will be sure to check out some of the other recommendations next time we visit!
