  • bachelor dinner, prix fix menu - help!

When: Fri, May 2nd or Sat, May 3rd
    Who: 10-14 guys

Looking for some good ideas for my buddy's bachelor party dinner. Note, we are getting BS on Saturday, May 2nd.

From previous bachelor parties I have been on in Vegas - the group has done dinner first, strip club second, then club last all in one night.... From other people's experience - what do they prefer? Is this too much all in our final night?

We are looking at Steakhouses, I have been emailing places to see what they are able to offer. We are mainly focused on Prix Fix Menus where there is a set price per person ($85-$100).

Some ideas thrown out have been:

    STRIPSTEAK (Mandalay Bay)
Brand Steakhouse & Lounce (Monte Carlo)
    STK (Cosmopolitan)
Joe’s Seafood Prime Steak & Stone Crab (The Shops @ Caesar’s)
    SW Steakhouse (Wynn)
    Botero (Encore)
    N9NE (Palms)

    I appreciate any help!

Had my bach party there this past July and we did Brand Steakhouse in Monte Carlo. 18 of us and I have been there 3 times before. Got the reservation the day of with a 15 minute wait when we got there. Got out of there with dinner, drinks and tip for $100/person. Some of the guys did the steak for 2 and the 3 sides for $25 which serves 2 easily. Link to the menu to give you an idea on pricing:

    http://brandlasvegas.com/menus/

Light Group also does fixed menus for all of their restaurants including Brand:

    http://lightgroup.com/?page_id=97

Click on the 2nd one labeled "Come celebrate the weekend VIP style with The Light Group!" and hit the more info box on the right of the title.

You will have to look at each restaurant individually but it gives you pricing and the food for each one.

The VIP lounge package is pretty solid also when compared to a club. Table+ 2 top shelf bottles for $500 per 6 people or $400 for 2 bottles of Skyy per 6 people.

    Hope this helps a little.

Thanks KP - I remember you mentioning Brand Steakhouse before.

Below are the Steakhouses I have reached out to so far:

      -STRIPSTEAK (Mandalay Bay)
      • Was quoted $90pp for “Bachelor” menu (looks awesome – I have attached)
      • Does not include drinks, sales tax, gratuity
      • $125 “Facility Fee” charge – I do not understand this fee, couldn’t I make a reservation for my party on my own, do the same type of dinner and not pay this fee? Am I missing something here?

      -STK (Cosmopolitan)
      • Was quoted $200pp minimum

      -CarneVino (The Palazzo)
      • Not heard back

      -SW Steakhouse (Wynn/Encore)
      • Not heard back

-Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab (Caesars Forum Shops)
      • Was quoted $1,200 minimum to reserve the private “Boardroom” (looks awesome)
      • There is a prix fixe menu for $68pp (not including drinks)
      • Afraid we wouldn’t reach the minimum

-Brand Steakhouse & Lounge (Monte Carlo)
      • Not heard back

This dinner is planned for Sat, May 2 @ 8-8:30pm - Is this a good time? Too early? Too late? We plan on going to a club this night as well.

      Group size - 10-14 guys
We were looking at $80-$100 pp

      What are you guys thoughts?

I guess the file sizes are too big for the attachments...

We did 8:30 and were done by 10:30 so with clubs in the mix you may want to do 9 or so. Don't know if you're doing a table at the club, if so they may want you there by a certain time to get the table.

Facility fee??? No idea what that is. Sounds like free money unless they are giving you a private room?

$1200 is close actually. That's a strong menu and Boardroom looks sick. If all 14 go multiply by$68/person you're already at $952. $248 left for drinks. Upgrade the apetizer $10/person ($140) you now have $108 left for drinks. No upgrade on the app, if everyone does 1 or 2 drinks or combo 2 or 3 bottles of wine and drinks you have the number covered since a drink is $15-18 per. If you think about it everyone orders a drink when they sit down to shoot the crap and order apps, etc. They order another to have with dinner usually. Should be covered.

Only way it doesn't look good is if 10 only go, no way.

Just my luck, I was going to confirm the dinner at Joe's in their private "Boardroom" dining space - of course it is already booked for the time we wanted. So scratch that plan.

Also, I found out what the "Facility Fee" was for. It is for parties of 15 or more, which guarantees our space. Even though STRIPSTEAK still seems like a good option, the lady rubbed me the wrong way by not even paying attention to the very email, group size, menu I was talking about.

            Back to the drawing board...

If you plan on going to club afterwards I HIGHLY suggest you do an early dinner. The amount of food you'll most likely be consuming will be a hindrance to your ability to get a good buzz going. You want to give time for the food to digest and save time for some pre-gaming before heading into the club. That being said, I'd recommend a 7pm booking.
