Anybody have some good recommendations for good sushi restaurants in Vegas currently? I'm always iffy about finding good places to eat raw fish especially in landlocked states but Vegas is a bit different. It can be anything from their sashimi or "american" sushi (Stuff that's deep fried and what not).

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

I've been to yellowtail the last 3 times I've been in LV so I want to try somewhere new as well. Blue Ribbon @ Cosmo it is!

The new and undisputed king of sushi bars in Vegas is Kabuto. This is sushi to a whole new level. Super traditional Edo style sushi to the max. If you've ever seen Jiro Dreams of Sushi, this is the closest thing you can get to eating the stuff in the movie. Be warned, this is the real deal: no deep fried spicy tuna rolls with rainbow colored sauces, no teriyaki combos. Just real sushi.

        It's a foodie destination.

Nobu hands down... It's always solid. I hit it up each time I go to Vegas, South Beach, and LA. I've never been dissapointed. I have reservations this Tuesday in Vegas for my birthday. If you go there you have to try the rock shrimp.

Has anyone ever been to Barmasa @ the Aria? Is it worth their ridiculous prices?

If it's anything like the New York version, no. Bar Masa was the attachment to Masa in New York for those who couldn't afford/couldn't get into Masa itself for the tasting menu.

Nope, not worth it. I have no trouble paying lots of money for a good meal that's worth it, but this is not. It was delicious, but the portions are minuscule and the prices are far too high for what you're given (in terms of quality and quantity). I eat in Michelin starred restaurants around the world, and they are not at the caliber of restaurant that they pretend to be in.

If you want something that is truly superb and in the same vein (and dare I say, even better than Masa in NY) go to Urasawa in Beverly Hills. It's run by a protege of Masa himself, but in my opinion, is far greater. It'll cost you a pretty penny ($350-400 for the omakase), but its definitely worth it.

Kabuto seems to get TONS of good reviews. Seems like they get fish from around the globe delivered twice a week so do the prices change depending on the market? Just trying to budget my trip and would definitely love to try this place out. If not, I'll just try the Cosmo.
