Dinner Negotiation

I'm trying to set up a bachelor party dinner for 14 at Red Square at Mandalay Bay. She sent me their group dining menu with a few different per-person pricepoints. So I'm thinking of choosing one of the price points, asking for 1 drink per person from their martini menu, and one glass of champagne for everyone, then negotiating a price. Is that a good way to go? Is there a way to get a discount or a good rate here?

Also she is trying to tack on a facility fee of $125. I've never heard of that when doing group res at restaurants. Is that a Vegas thing or what? And is it negotiable?

All things are negotiable to a point. Probably more likely to get the facility fee waived than ALL of the comped drinks. However, rule 1 of negotiation is to ask for the moon.

It's also helpful if they think they are bidding against someone for your business. For example, you could ask what the facility fee is for as other venues are not charging a facility fee....or just be more vague and ask if that is their final and best offer. Often they will assume they are losing the business and throw out a better offer.

To clarify: not planning on asking to get all the drinks comped, we will pay extra for them. Just wanna understand how much wiggle room I have. But definitely will mention that they're not the only place we want.

I got ya...the ol package things up for one amount approach. Thats not a bad idea if they're willing to do it that way.
