I did a search here & couldn't find anything for Bachi Burger. I was playing blackjack at Mirage & I asked the dealer where he goes for a good burger. I expected BLT or KGB or one of the others I have already heard of but he referred me to this place. The dealer said it was fusion & I immediately dismissed the place because I associate that with foo-foo but I read on Yelp that it was a good place so I went. I had the Kobe burger & fries. I think the secret to getting a good burger if I order Kobe is not to order it well-done as I always do. I tried medium well & I believe I have found one of the best burger places I have ever been. Another unique thing about this place is the ketchup has pineapple flavoring. It isn't at all pretentious as I thought it would be.

nice. I heard of that place but havent tried it yet though. Next time, gotta check it out.

Also, it just irks me to see so many places advertise as "Kobe". There's no such thing as Kobe beef outside Japan. Its not legal to export it outside Japan(I have heard it available at a couple other places such as Hong Kong) but it really is not available anywhere else. Anything that is sold as Kobe beef in the US is a Kobe style, not the real deal Kobe beef. LOL. Sorry its just one of those things that annoys me when I see that stuff all over in restaurants. Most people just dont know the real deal info about that stuff.

Yeah there was a big magazine article about this recently. Currently, all beef from Japan is prohibited in the US due to Mad Cow Disease issues. However, that notwithstanding, the import of Kobe beef has never been allowed in the US. The only way it would be possible to get Kobe beef is if someone smuggled it in past customs.

Not just the mis-wording, but I get a kick out of the idea of Kobe "style" beef burgers anyway. The whole idea of what makes the beef so good is the marbling (super high fat content but perfect veins as opposed to big ridges of fat), but when you grind it up anyway, you're kind of defeating the purpose. (That being said, I'm a sucker for marketing so I order the hell out of them).

Yep, I still do too. Most of the time the (in my experience at least) the beef used is better so it;s worth it. The Kobe Burger at The Cheesecake Factory is a head scratcher though.

CUT has this currently on their menu, false advertising then?

Yes it is. It's the same thing as advertising 100% genuine New Jersey Cognac or California Champagne.

Real Kobe beef is from a very specific breed of cow – and surprise, it is not Wagyu. In fact, Wagyu is not even a breed. Wagyu, on the other hand, means “Japanese Cattle” and refers to the entirety of the nation’s breeds.
