Has anyone been? If so, any comments on atmosphere, service, etc?

My brother and I have reservations on Friday, and will likely do the tasting menu

No idea, but it's going to be fun!

I was at the Tokyo location, and it was really good. I would imagine the Vegas location would be of the same calibre.
Never offer an open bar to a Wisconsinite... =)

I met a client for a drink there a few months back & heard it's atop the top 50 restaurants in the world by Gourmet Magazine but never verified that. Please leave a review, thanks in advance.

Gourmet Magazine is no more - there former editor is with Gilt Group now. As far as L' Atelier is more relaxed then Joel Robuchon Restraunt next door but very good. Portions are small but well executed. One of teh best french places on the strip and certainly has a more trendy atmoshere then the other major players on the strip (Guy Savoy, Twist, etc). Probably would rec getting the tasting for 100-125 pp.

I have heard nothing but great things about their tasting menu. Prices have ranged from $85-$135 since I have lived here depending on the day/events. If you are staying here at the MGM the best reference source will be Josh or Casey in the MGM Concierge. They're both valuable sources of information regarding all on property dining venues. The MGM Signature Concierge is the 2nd best bet. Ask for Karla or Ozzy. You can also call. For the price - the ambiance alone is worth it. I have taken over 100 pictures of my friends just in front of their doors! Their curved glass is an architectural & artistic brilliance.

Yeah that's him. His cousin is Jen Saunders at NYNY - Thomas knows her. They are why I live here!

Had an awesome time and great meal there.

Showed up around 6:30pm for our reservation - it was interesting how they sat us, and I'm not sure on their seating arrangements. My brother and I showed up, checked in with the hostess, and were seated in the far corner seats of the bar which maybe holds around 50-60 people on 3 sides. We are seated right next to someone who i think is a business traveler, already into his 2nd course of 3, reading a book on his iPad. At this time, there were maybe 10-15 people seated already, with plenty of space everywhere. He looked as confused as we were when we were crammed into the space right next to him.

We ordered the Seasonal Discovery Menu for $155, but didn't get the wine pairing ($105). I felt like it was well worth it, and all the food was well-executed. Service was extremely prompt, friendly, and attentive.

                Here's what we had:
1 Foie gras parfait with port wine and parmesan foam
2 Celery mousse with wasabi, beef stew gelée and slices of foie gras
3 Poached baby Kushi oyster with butter
4 Seared lobster on a macaroni with wild mushrooms
5 White onion tart with smoked bacon, quail egg "mirror" and green asparagus
6 Monkfish cheek and baby leeks, buttery shellfish sauce with lime and ginger
7 Foie gras stuffed free-range quail with mashed potatoes (my brother)
7 French-style hanger steak with fried shallots and mashed potatoes (me)
8 Pecan Cake topped with fresh apples cooked in Calvados, cinnamon-brown sugar ice cream
9 Orange infused with caramel and milk chocolate mousse bar
                10 Espresso

Everything was very tasty and well-presented, servers were well-versed (as they always should be) on what they were serving. The mashed potatoes were incredible, though extremely buttery, and when asked, was told they were about 75% butter.

The whole meal took about 1 hr and 40 minutes, and we were very satisfied with everything. I would go next door next time and try their tasting menu, as it wasn't that much more.
