  • How's the food at Tao?

I'm considering eating at Tao but am unsure how the food is. Anyone eaten there?

I've never eaten at Tao in Vegas, but Tao in NY is definitely nothing special. It wasn't bad, but it didn't make me want to go back either.

the food is mediocre at best. i only eat there when i want to get admission into the club. beating the line is worth that alone. you just have to order something like 25-30 dollars of food or something- the cost of cover.

if going to tao, we usually have dinner at a good restaurant first and then head in for a super late reservation and just snack/drink and order only what is sufficient to get cover. most of the time we don't really eat the stuff, but honestly it saves so much time.

to be honest, i never really understood why people are willing to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on tables and booze but won't want to spend a small fraction of that for a good meal, but that's a different rant...

Can't comment on the sushi bar as never ate there.

Meal for two (starters and main) plus beer each, your looking about $100 - $120. We went for thai food (my favourite cuisine) - Kung pao chicken and the Buddha chicken. Portions are good sized. The food was quite rich in taste, it was 'westernised' Thai / Chinese food at its best. I say westernised, because if you eat genuine Thai /Chinese food in Thailand / China, the sauces that the meals are cooked in are a lot more toned down. Westernised Asian restuarants in my experience always add additional richer flavours to their dishes which is either a plus or a minus depending on how one likes Asian food to taste.

Its just ok. At the same price point there can be had a ton better. My last trip while in the lounge I saw a group of guys sitting there eating their $28 Kung Pao Chicken with the bowls in their laps.

IMHO, the food is good but not great.

If dinner there didn't come with free entry to the nightclub, I probably wouldn't dine there.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

From the posts here the food seems average at best, has anyone been recently?

We've got bottle service sorted for the Thurs (23 Aug) we land and was thinking of eating there beforehand for ease, would we be better eating somewhere in the Cosmo before heading to the club?
An 8,000 mile journey is always worth it when it ends in Vegas!

Ive ate at Tao a couple times. The food is good. As good as the best restaurants in my home town. Just not a 10 when compared to the top places in Vegas. Unless youre a major food snob you eill like yhe food. The resraurant is cool as hell also, and both times the service was great.
