I did the $20 trick and got upgraded to a higher floor, corner room in the Paradise Tower with pool & Strip view. I didn't go for a suite or anything, though...

Did the $20 Sandwich at the Venetian this last weekend, checked in late Thursday night.

Got upgraded from a Bella Suite in the highly confusing Venezia Tower at Venetian to a Lago 2 Bedroom at the Palazzo - 44th floor with the best view I've ever had of the strip.

anyone tried this at luxor at all?How do you go about it, just mention to the person at the desk that you have a 20 or 50 for them if they can help you get a better room?

There's two items required for check-in. Your license and your credit card.

Put the cash in between the two and present to the person who's checking you in.

              Hence, the "sandwich".

The Next Upgrade is 5000 a nite... Does anyone have any experience with this type of upgrade... I'm thinking about putting a $100 bill in the sandwhich and directly asking if they have any penthouses avaiable... It's worth a shot!!!
I'm in the same situation this weekend at PP. I'm going to give it a shot and see if I have any luck, just not sure if I should go through my Casino host or if I should just try and offer a sandwich to the front desk.

FYI it works better if you have a specific upgrade you're looking for then just a general "have any upgrades available?"

Didn't work for me this past NYE, but I'd figure it was because it was NYE. Will plan on trying it again in May.

                          Sandwich Update: 02/4/11 to 02/7/11 - Aria

Offered $20 for an upgrade (knew $50 would be too much as we still needed 2 beds and weren't about to throw $200 on an upgrade to a Sky Suite). A very nice clerk hands the $20 and says to hold onto it until we're done, then I can decide whether she gets it.

Asking for High Floor, Strip View... says the highest they can do is 25th floor Strip View. Then...

Checks with Manager... says they can do 37th floor Strip View.

Checks again with Manager... new rooms just came on the board and they can move us up to the 52nd (of 54) floor, Strip View.

I gladly hand over the $20.

nice, the view must have been amazing up there. I always do either 20 or 50. Last year I did it at nyny and got a jacuzzi suite out of it and 2 years ago at caesars we also got a suite out of it. Its definitely worth doing, I dont really see them taking your money if you dont get anything out of it, but I guess it happens.

                              Bumping thread...

In Vegas this week (who's here and wants to party?)

Did $20 sandwich @ Encore and got a little bump. High floor with great view back down the strip (south - you don't want North from up here!).

So, yeah, it works when it does. It's worth $20 to have the strip starring you in the face when you walk in your room each night.

Btw - Encore is amazing. I've stayed in 8-9 other hotels and this place takes the cake (or whatever). Awesome pool. Awesome spa. And some of the most beautiful women you'll see anywhere in Vegas... All over the place after 9-10 pm. It's like some kind of magnet.
