  • Early check-in Hotels...

When I fly into Vegas I typically book the earliest flight possible because...well it's Vegas.
I've noticed that certain hotels I never have a problem checking in at even 9am (MGM, SLS) with which is awesome...others won't get me in until 3pm earliest. (I'm talking to you Caesar's grrrrr...)

My question is I'm heading into town the week before Labor Day (30th thru the 2nd) and had my eye on booking the Wynn for the 1st time. What is their early check-ins like? Do they work with you or are they firm on getting into a room after 3?

Can't speak specifically for Wynn, but the last 3 times I have been out there, I have been allowed to check in early, but there was a $25-$50 early check in fee, all at different properties. Guessing most places have followed suit to generate some additional revenue.

Cosmo was great to us everytime. Even if the room's not ready they pre-auth your keys and text you the room number once it's ready. It's a godsend if you go to a dayclub. Come back, go to your room without being drunk in line, call your bags up

I check in around noon on a regular basis and have never been charged an early check-in fee. SLS on my last trip wanted to charge a fee if I needed the room before 11am, so looks like that property is YMMV with regard to a fee. I just waited till then to check in and it was fine.

Encore had no problem with checking-in around 12:30pm when I stayed there in July. Other members of my party checked into Wynn around 1-1:30pm and had no problem or fee, so I'd think your chance of avoiding a fee is pretty good. My rule of thumb is no fee after 11am-noon, and possibly a fee if you are wanting to check-in before that, but I too have checked in around 9am at I think MGM Grand and not been charged so obviously there are exceptions.

You got ripped off. No hotel anywhere in the world has EVER charged me an early check-in fee even though it's in the rules & regs of pretty much every hotel. I've checked into hotels as early as 8/9am.

You must have good luck because the privately owned section of the Signature (Jet) and Caesars have both charged me early check in's before 3pm.

I've heard the private portions of the Signature have pretty strict policies so that doesn't exactly surprise me. With regard to Caesars did you hand them your Total Rewards card when checking in? I know I typically have gotten much better service after handing my players card over at check-in regardless of whether or not I'm still at the lowest level. I think once at Harrah's they said they would have had to charge me an early check-in fee but didn't since I was a Total Rewards member.

i've seen MLife hotels offer early and late checkout for a fee sometimes when booking online...

but i've not personally been charged anywhere in the world for early check-in. either they have a room or they don't is my experience.
