Advantages to Staying at the Wynn

I am debating on staying at the Wynn. In the past I have stayed at MGM (x2), Mandalay Bay (x2) Aria (x2) and the Palms, of those places I think Aria is the best. Back when the Palms was really a great place I stayed there and as a hotel guest you got to skip line to get into Rain, Ghostbar and Moon for free for your entire stay (it was a great benefit).

I never have liked hanging out in the Wynn, something about it never appealed to me. Because of this on previous trips we have always stayed away from the clubs there but based on everything I read on these posts EBC and XS are two of the best venues and we are losing out.

I would be interested in hearing what others think about the Wynn/Encore Hotels. Are there any advantages to staying there such as privileges to entry into EBC or XS or something like that?

Nope, sadly no privileges except proximity. They sell special hotel guest only tickets to EBC, XS, and their other venues at the concierge but early presale tickets are cheaper, so unless you are planning last minute I don't think they really are worth doing.

XS is my go-to club, and the fact that I could walk downstairs, get into the club, exit the club, go back up to my 60th floor room (really 50th floor room since they skip floors 40-49 at Encore) and grab a drink and be back downstairs and inside within 15 minutes was pretty impressive.

They have a wide variety of well reviewed expensive restaurants, so that's a plus if you are into fine dining. The Eastside Lounge has live music and Parasol Down is known as one of the best bars in town so it has a couple of places to start off your night right.

Realistically though the main reason to stay there is it's nice. They give you bottles of water while you are waiting to check in. The room already has ice in the bucket when you check in. The maids when servicing your room arrange all your bathroom toiletries, put coasters under all our bottles, put out slippers by the bed, chocolates on the bedside table, change the lighting, and put on a soothing TV channel filled with pretty photos of the property and soothing music.

It's the little touches for sure that make it so well liked, but I can imagine a lot of those aren't unique to Wynn or Encore and can be found at places like Aria. The difference is Aria doesn't also have XS or Encore Beach Club literally minutes from your door. (Nikki also says "Aria doesn't have butterflies everywhere!" so there's that)

I've stayed at Encore a couple times and the access to XS and EBC (and when it was a big hitter, Surrender) is sensational.

The pool is also classy, and the European pool is usually a good scene.

Gambling floor is usually quiet and boring.

Price-wise it's expensive, so you can definitely find better "value" options.

Price-wise it can be expensive, and quite often it is for Friday and Saturday, but I think it's a great Sunday and Monday option with sometimes extremely reasonable prices for those days. With EBC and XS Nightswim on Sunday, and XS on Monday being some of the most preferred club options in town for those days it makes total sense to stay there. When I went in July, Encore was $118 per day for Sunday and Monday with 2 lunch buffets included per day. That was much, much cheaper than the Cosmopolitan's or Venetian/Palazzo's base rooms. For my next trip in September, Sunday the 20th was $139 with 2 lunch buffets, so again cheaper than the competition by far.

Have stayed several times over the years, and never had a better experience in all of Vegas. Excellent customer service, great pool scene including EBC and XS is my goto of choice. Its is worth the extra cost to not have to deal with what has become a "tip for service" market that has become Vegas. Wynn provides great service.

Encore was our official headquarter this year for MDW, and it was sooooo worth it. I recommend Encore over Wynn, with Wynn as the 2nd choice, and Cosmo as 3rd choice.

It won out barely over Cosmo (but we did stay at Cosmo Mon to Wed, and again on Memorial Day). A few folks in our group stayed at Cosmo the entire time.

I picked Encore for MDW due to its convenience to Tryst (Thur night), Surrender, XS (to include the Sun night swim), and EBC (Sunday). Based on what I read on JC and other places (and probably experienced), Encore also seems to have more foot traffic and party folks than Wynn. Also, Encore is a little cheaper than Wynn.

As for privileges, the "concierge tickets" available to guests get you in the hotel guest line, which can sometimes save you considerable time if a major DJ is attending. During MDW this year, these tix were either a couple dollars more or couple dollars cheaper than the website, depending on if they were male or female tickets (seemed to be random which case).

2 caveats:
1. I read on a surprising number of sites that the gambling at Encore/Wynn is bad.
2. Encore/Wynn is pricier than other options (with the exception of possibly Cosmo)
